  17. No, that means you gave it some commands, it heard you and did what you
  18. told it to do. It's not an initial string. It is an init. string.
  19. (initiation) Yes, those are the initial commands, but you refer to that
  20. "set" of commands as the "init. string".
  21. You may not know it, but the commands you gave it are the first line of
  22. the modem.cfg file. (You must use a file editor to see this)

  26. You failed to mention a lot of stuff. Does it work, for instance?
  27. Have you ever connected with someone? You really need to work on how you
  28. ask a question and what exactly you want to know. You need to give more
  29. information for someone to help you. Like what happens when you try it,
  30. What kind of modem you have, how much ram you have and stuff like that.
  31. It's real har to get it to work over the phone, but it's a kick in the
  32. ass!
