I'm having a HELLUVA time getting my GUS to work with DOOM. Perhaps some
people have experienced the same problems which I have.
I've got the s/fx working great. They're absolutely problem free. The only
thing is that I cannot for the life of me get the midi music working. I've
got a 256k GUS, with the v3.11 install disks. I installed everything as I
was supposed to, and chose an IRQ below 8, so what's the deal? Here's a
looksie into my Autoexec (the relevant parts), and Config.sys:
Autoexec.bat:
SET ULTRASND=220,3,3,7,5
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T1
SET ULTRADIR=C:\GUS
SET GUSMOD=C:\GUS\MOD
Config.sys:
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE RAM 4096
buffers=40,0
FILES=50
DOS=UMB
LASTDRIVE=E
FCBS=16,0
DEVICEHIGH /L:1,13872 =C:\GUS\ULTRINIT.SYS -DJ -O ULTRASND=220,3,3,7,5
DOS=HIGH
STACKS=9,256
If ANYONE can help out with this I would really appreciate it. Please
don't suggest I read the faqs, because I've already gone through the
GUSFAQ, and the DOOMFAQ. Nothing's working.
