I imagine gamma off was how it was intended. Gamma correction was
created so laptop players could cope on a plasma screen.

This brings up an interesting point. I NEVER used gamma correction (I
think it looks bad) until I found out that one of my partners was using
it. I think that gamma correction should be like turbo. When a player
dies and reenters the game, it should say "Green is GAMMA X and Turbo."
I usually win all my deathmatches, so I am not whining, I just think
gamma is one of those things that should be considered cheating until
everyone knows who is using it.
I'll ask id what they think...
