if you're playing MoDOOM or NetDOOM with someone and save a game so you
can finish it later, you can do
doom -devparm -drone <x> -loadgame <y>
where x is the other player's number and y is the savegame slot.
Then they will be in the game and you can find them (they won't be moving,
of course) so that when the game starts back up again, well, you get the
idea :) :)
back to that 'deathmatch ethics' thread :)
PS: -left and -right went away when broadcast IPX packets (you know, the
kind that eat up the _whole_ network) went away. -left and -right allowed
a computer to not be in the game, but listen for the network packets, so
it could draw a view of the screen from a 90-degree point of view.
