* ReadMe.1st - Important notes about World Clock 1.11 *
******************************************************************************
BUGS IN OS/2 AND REXX:
Under some environment (Warp3 - FP35; FP38, Warp4 - FP10; FP11)
there are bugs in OS/2 and/or Rexx. Known problems are:
Time calculation and display, sunrise/sunset and city position
for cities in western hemisphere on the world map may be wrong.
INSTALLATION:
DO NOT unzip archive, or select Installation directory in ROOT DIRECTORY!
If you want to use settings from previous World Clock version (1.10),
DO NOT UNINSTALL PREVIOUS VERSION before Installation.
After you installed World Clock 1.11, you can UnInstall World Clock 1.10.
You can also keep World Clock 1.10 on your computer and run both versions.
If you selected current directory as target directory for installation and
World Clock is already installed in this directory, current settings in
CLOCK.INI file will be OVERWRITTEN with default settings.
Install program can create only ONE directory - for example:
you can create c:\Newdir - but not c:\Newdir1\Newdir2
If Install program find files in directory where you want to install
World Clock, they will be OVERWRITTEN.
After Install procedure finished, and "Start World Clock on exit" checkbox is
selected, when you press "Exit" button, World Clock starts, and Cities
dialog will be opened. First you have to select YOUR CITY (1st city).
CHANGES IN CITY LIST:
Here are 150 new cities. Latitude and longitude are included for all cities in
the list. If you added your cities to the list (in version 1.10), you'll have
to do it again (and add coordinates too).
For cities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland country name is
changed to United Kingdom.
TZ VARIABLE IN CONFIG.SYS:
To enable all options in World Clock, there must be fully qualified TZ variable
in CONFIG.SYS (not only TZ descriptor(s) and UTC difference). After you change
TZ environment variable in CONFIG.SYS, restart your computer to accept changes.
For more information read section "Set TZ environment variable" in manual.
INFORMATION ABOUT DATE AND TIME:
Information about Time Zone, Daylight Savings Time, Internet Time, ... was
compiled from various sources available freely on the Internet. Credits are
fully given to the known authors of any material that was used.
Here may be incorrect data for cities: UTC difference, DST begin/end,
Time Zone descriptors and latitude/longitude.
I would appreciate if you send corrections to: duga1@pu.tel.hr
