DESCRIPTION
When you change OS/2 parameters during the Selective Install phase of
OS/2 Warp 4 installation, the changes are not propagated to CONFIG.SYS.
Problem Recreation:
1. Begin installing OS/2 Warp 4.
2. When the Selective Install window displays, click on the Next button.
3. Click on the Next button again to display the OS/2 Setup and
Installation window.
4. On the menu bar, click on Software Configuration.
5. Click on Change OS/2 parameters...
6. Change the cache size, and follow the instructions on screen to
continue with installation.
After installation completes, edit the CONFIG.SYS file. The DISKCACHE
statement is unchanged.
RESOLUTION
1. After installation completes, open an OS/2 Window.
2. Type COPY CONFIG.SYS CONFIG.BAK, then press Enter, to make a backup
copy of CONFIG.SYS.
3. Type E CONFIG.SYS, then press Enter.
4. Change the DISKCACHE= statement to the desired value.
(Refer to the online OS/2 Warp Command Reference for help with this
command).
5. Save your changes and exit CONFIG.SYS; then shutdown and restart the
computer.
