  5.                  OS2KRNL Not Acceptable During Installation

  11. DESCRIPTION
  12.  
  13. An error occurs when the system is restarted during installation:
  14.  
  15.   OS2KRNL Not Acceptable 
  16.  
  17. RESOLUTION
  18.  
  19. 1.  Restart the system with the OS/2 Warp 4 Installation Diskette,
  20.     inserting Diskettes 1 and 2 when prompted. 
  21.  
  22. 2.  At the Easy/Advanced Installation screen, escape to a command 
  23.     prompt by pressing F3.
  24.  
  25. 3.  If the OS/2 partition is formatted HPFS (High Performance Filing 
  26.     System), do the following, otherwise continue with Step 4:
  27.  
  28.     a. With the OS/2 Warp 4 CD-ROM in the drive, change to the CD-ROM 
  29.        drive.
  30.  
  31.     b. Change to the OS2IMAGE\DISK_3 subdirectory. 
  32.  
  33.     c. Type CHKDSK C: /F; then press Enter
  34.        (where C: is the OS/2 partition).
  35.  
  36. 4.  Change to the OS/2 partition.
  37.  
  38. 5.  Change to the \OS2 directory.
  39.  
  40. 6.  Type UNPACK X:\OS2IMAGE\DISK_39\ATTRIB; then press Enter
  41.     (where X: is the CD-ROM drive).
  42.  
  43. 7.  Type ATTRIB -H -S -R \OS2KRNL; then press Enter.
  44.  
  45. 8.  Type CD \; then press Enter.
  46.  
  47. 9.  Type REN OS2KRNL OS2KRNL.OLD; then press Enter.
  48.  
  49. 10. Insert the OS/2 Warp 4 Installation Diskette into the A: drive.
  50.  
  51. 11. Type COPY A:\OS2KRNLI OS2KRNL; then press Enter.
  52.  
  53. 12. Type CD OS2; then press Enter.
  54.  
  55. 13. Type ATTRIB +H +S +R \OS2KRNL*; then press Enter.
  56.  
  57. 14. Remove the diskette and restart the system from the hard disk.
