  12. DESCRIPTION
  13.  
  14. This document describes what to do if you discover a bad diskette 
  15. during installation.
  16.  
  17. RESOLUTION
  18.  
  19. Do a DISKCOPY of the diskette that is bad and try to continue the 
  20. installation.
  21.  
  22. If you get the same problem, call your vendor and request a replacement
  23. diskette. If the vendor does not have a replacement diskette, contact 
  24. the local IBM Branch Office listed in your phone book and request a 
  25. replacement.

  27. If you still cannot obtain a replacement diskette, call:
  28.  
  29. * 1-800-3-IBM-OS2 (1-800-342-6672), or
  30. * 1-800-494-3044 (Service Pak replacements)
  31.  
  32. The following is a list of error messages and errors that a bad 
  33. diskette can cause:
  34.  
  35. * SYS02025 and SYS02027 error messages.
  36. * SYS2025 and SYS2027 error messages.
  37. * SYS0041 CRC error (cyclic redundancy error or check).
  38. * SYS0045 Bad sectors; unrecoverable read errors.
  39. * System beeps when you insert a diskette.
  40. * Continual prompts to insert the diskette.
  41. * Diskette is corrupted, damaged, erased, or doesn't work.
  42. * Diskette is marked incorrectly.
  43. * Errors cannot be fixed or recovered from.
  44. * System locks up at any diskette.
  45. * Drive A cannot find the sector requested.
  46. * No files are on the diskette.
  47. * System could not read the diskette.
