SYMPTOMS:
During install on a Gateway 2000 486/66 with local bus and
ATI Graphics Ultra Pro the system gets to the screen displaying
the colorful OS/2 full screen symbol. The screen then displays
5 or 6 horizontal bands of video separated by black bands that
scroll horizontally across the screen.
RESOLUTION:
Run the Setup program for the ATI card and set up the monitor
as an IBM default.
PROCEDURES:
1. Start the system with DOS/
2. Change directories to MACH32
3. Type: INSTALL and press Enter.
4. At the Main Selection screen select SET POWER UP
CONFIGURATION.
5. At the next screen select MONITOR TYPE.
6. The next screen should have the 1572 Monitor with 72Hz
refresh rate highlighted, press Enter to select it.
7. Select IBM default as the new Monitor.
8. After successful installation repeat steps to reselect
the 1572 Monitor.
