  5.    updates applied to the IBM* Developer's Toolkit
  6.    for OS/2* 2.0.

  8.    Note:  You must install the OS/2 2.0 ServicePak
  9.    XR06100 before installing ServicePak XR06110.

  25. UPDATED DEVELOPER TOOLS

  27.    The following developer tools have been updated
  28.    to include APAR fixes.  The specific APAR
  29.    number and a brief abstract of each are
  30.    contained in the file XR06110.XRF.  XR06110.XRF
  31.    resides on Diskette 4 of the 3.5-inch diskettes
  32.    and on Diskette 5 of the 5.25-inch diskettes.

  64. CHANGES TO THE ICON EDITOR
  65.  
  66.    The new version of the Icon Editor will write a
  67.    "pure" image file (a bitmap, icon, or pointer
  68.    having a single device form) in the standard
  69.    format defined in Presentation Manager
  70.    Programming Reference Vol. III.  An icon file
  71.    having a single device form conforms to the
  72.    first format described there, and does not have
  73.    a bitmap array file header.  The Icon Editor
  74.    previously available in OS/2 2.0 wrote all such
  75.    files as bitmap arrays.  The new Icon Editor
  76.    will read files in the nonstandard format, but
  77.    will use the standard format when writing a
  78.    pure image file.

  81. CHANGES TO THE IPF COMPILER
  82.  
  83.    The following symbol files were changed:

  85.        APSYM932.APS
  86.        APSYM934.APS
  87.        APSYM938.APS
  88.  
  89.    These files pertain to users in countries
  90.    compiling for DBCS (double-byte character set)
  91.    information.

  93.    Rename the file that matches the codepage you
  94.    are compiling to APSYMBOL.APS.  You should also
  95.    make a backup of the original APSYMBOL.APS
  96.    file.

  99. CHANGES TO KWIKINF
  100.  
  101.    The KwikINF utility now appears as a program
  102.    object in the Toolkit information folder.  In
  103.    addition to changes in its user interface,
  104.    KwikINF is now documented in the Tools
  105.    Reference information folder.

  108. CHANGES TO THE CP REFERENCE
  109.  
  110.    The online CP Reference is replaced with the CP
  111.    Guide and Reference.  Information from the
  112.    Programming Guide Volume I is now integrated
  113.    with the reference material.  The API calls are
  114.    presented in alphabetic order.  The APIs can
  115.    also be accessed from the guidance information
  116.    by clicking on the API name as it appears in
  117.    the text.

  119.    The presentation of the APIs changed as
  120.    Parameters and Returns no longer appear in the
  121.    left-hand selection column.  To access the
  122.    parameters, click on the parameter in the
  123.    syntax panel which appears on the right-hand
  124.    side of the screen.  To see the return codes,
  125.    click on the "rc" field in the syntax panel.

  127.    The CP Reference, which consisted of the file
  128.    GUIREF20.INF, is now replaced with the files
  129.    CPGREF1.INF, CPGREF2.INF, and CPGREF3.INF which
  130.    comprise the new CP Guide and Reference.

  132.    After the CP Guide and Reference is installed,
  133.    you can delete GUIREF20.INF.

  136. UPDATING CONFIG.SYS
  137.  
  138.    1.  Using a text editor, edit CONFIG.SYS.
  139.    2.  Modify the statement as shown below:
  140.  
  141.          SET PROGREF20=CPGREF1.INF+CPGREF2.INF+CPGREF3.INF
  142.  
  143.    3.  Save the changes to CONFIG.SYS
  144.    4.  Shut down and restart the system.

  147. CHANGES TO THE DESKTOP
  148.  
  149.    The following objects have been added to the Toolkit:

  151.    o   READ.ME in the Toolkit folder
  152.    o   README.SP in the Toolkit folder
  153.    o  *CP Guide and Reference in the Toolkit Information folder
  154.    o   Debug Kernel Reference in the Toolkit Information folder

  160. DEBUG DISKETTES

  162.    For ServicePak XR06110, two debug diskettes are
  163.    provided.  For installation information on the
  164.    debug kernel, refer to the file DBUGINST.DOC
  165.    which is located on the first diskette.

  167.    The debug files provided on these diskettes
  168.    match the OS/2 kernel shipped with the OS/2
  169.    ServicePak XR06100.  You must have the OS/2
  170.    ServicePak XR06100 installed before installing
  171.    the debug kernel files provided with ServicePak
  172.    XR06110.
