UPDATED ONLINE INFORMATION
The following online information has been updated:
o CP Guide and Reference
o *Debug Kernel Reference
o IPF Reference
o KwikINF
o PM Reference
o Tools Reference
* New online reference, Kernel Debug Support
removed from Tools Reference
CHANGES TO THE ICON EDITOR
The new version of the Icon Editor will write a
"pure" image file (a bitmap, icon, or pointer
having a single device form) in the standard
format defined in Presentation Manager
Programming Reference Vol. III. An icon file
having a single device form conforms to the
first format described there, and does not have
a bitmap array file header. The Icon Editor
previously available in OS/2 2.0 wrote all such
files as bitmap arrays. The new Icon Editor
will read files in the nonstandard format, but
will use the standard format when writing a
pure image file.
CHANGES TO THE IPF COMPILER
The following symbol files were changed:
APSYM932.APS
APSYM934.APS
APSYM938.APS
These files pertain to users in countries
compiling for DBCS (double-byte character set)
information.
Rename the file that matches the codepage you
are compiling to APSYMBOL.APS. You should also
make a backup of the original APSYMBOL.APS
file.
CHANGES TO KWIKINF
The KwikINF utility now appears as a program
object in the Toolkit information folder. In
addition to changes in its user interface,
KwikINF is now documented in the Tools
Reference information folder.
CHANGES TO THE CP REFERENCE
The online CP Reference is replaced with the CP
Guide and Reference. Information from the
Programming Guide Volume I is now integrated
with the reference material. The API calls are
presented in alphabetic order. The APIs can
also be accessed from the guidance information
by clicking on the API name as it appears in
the text.
The presentation of the APIs changed as
Parameters and Returns no longer appear in the
left-hand selection column. To access the
parameters, click on the parameter in the
syntax panel which appears on the right-hand
side of the screen. To see the return codes,
click on the "rc" field in the syntax panel.
The CP Reference, which consisted of the file
GUIREF20.INF, is now replaced with the files
CPGREF1.INF, CPGREF2.INF, and CPGREF3.INF which
comprise the new CP Guide and Reference.
After the CP Guide and Reference is installed,
you can delete GUIREF20.INF.
UPDATING CONFIG.SYS
1. Using a text editor, edit CONFIG.SYS.
2. Modify the statement as shown below:
SET PROGREF20=CPGREF1.INF+CPGREF2.INF+CPGREF3.INF
3. Save the changes to CONFIG.SYS
4. Shut down and restart the system.
CHANGES TO THE DESKTOP
The following objects have been added to the Toolkit:
o READ.ME in the Toolkit folder
o README.SP in the Toolkit folder
o *CP Guide and Reference in the Toolkit Information folder
o Debug Kernel Reference in the Toolkit Information folder
o KwikINF in the Toolkit Information folder
* Replaces CP Reference

which is located on the first diskette.
The debug files provided on these diskettes
match the OS/2 kernel shipped with the OS/2

ServicePak XR06100 installed before installing
the debug kernel files provided with ServicePak
