Installation Diskette (not the ServicePak
XR06110 Diskette 1) into drive A.
2. Shut down and restart the system.
3. When the IBM screen appears, remove the
Installation Diskette and insert the base
operating system Diskette 1; then press
Enter.
4. When the Welcome screen appears, press Esc
to display the command prompt.
5. Remove Diskette 1 and insert base operating
system Diskette 2.
6. Type "CHKDSK x: /F" (where x is the drive
letter of your OS/2 system partition).
7. Remove Diskette 2. Shut down and restart
the system.
SERVICEPAK XR06110 INSTALLATION
When installing the ServicePak XR06110
diskettes, you can choose from the following
three procedures:
o Procedure 1 installs all changes to all
partitions. Use this procedure if you want
to apply the service updates to all the
partitions that contain the 2.0 Toolkit.
o Procedure 2 installs all changes to
selected partitions. Use this procedure if
you want to apply all the service updates
to only some of the partitions that contain
the 2.0 Toolkit.
o Procedure 3 installs only some of the
changes. Use this procedure if you want to
apply only some of the service updates to
any partition that contains the 2.0
Toolkit.
Notes:
1. You should not stop the update process
after it starts.
2. When you install, you may receive a message
indicating that files on the hard disk are
newer than those being installed. Select
OK when prompted with this error message.
3. Before installing the 2.0 Toolkit
ServicePak XR06110, you must have OS/2 2.0
ServicePak XR06100 and the IBM Developer's
Toolkit for OS/2 2.0 installed.
4. Toolkit folders will be updated.
5. CP Reference has been replaced with CP Guide and
Reference. You must update your PROGREF20
environment variable in CONFIG.SYS to be able
use the new online reference.
Procedure 1: Installing All Changes to All Partitions
1. Select an OS/2 command-prompt object from
the Command Prompts folder in the OS/2
System folder.
2. Insert the ServicePak XR06110 Diskette 1
into drive A.
3. Type "A:\SERVICE" at the OS/2 command
prompt; then press Enter.
4. Select OK to display a list of the 2.0
Toolkit products installed on your system.
(For example, if the 2.0 Toolkit is in more
than one partition, the 2.0 Toolkit product
will be listed and selected more than
once.)
5. Select Service and then select Continue to
update all directories in which the 2.0
Toolkit resides. If you do not want to
update all directories, select Cancel.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.
7. See section below on updating CONFIG.SYS
Procedure 2: Installing All Changes to Selected Partitions

the Command Prompts folder in the OS/2
System folder.

into drive A.
3. Type "A:\SERVICE" at the OS/2 command
prompt; then press Enter.
4. Select OK to display a list of the 2.0

5. Deselect one or more products that you do
not want to update.
6. Select Service and then select Continue to

Toolkit resides. If you do not want to
update all directories in each selected
product, select Cancel.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.
8. See section below on updating CONFIG.SYS
Procedure 3: Installing Only Some of the Changes
Warning: If you do not apply the service
updates to all directories, some of the Toolkit
applications may not run after you install
ServicePak XR06110. This could happen because
an update in one directory might be dependent
on an update in another directory. If this
happens, you will have to re-apply ServicePak
XR06110 and include those directories you
omitted. If a message appears indicating that
the selected products are already at the new
levels, select OK to continue.
1. Select an OS/2 command-prompt object from
the Command Prompts folder in the OS/2
System folder.
2. Insert the ServicePak XR06110 Diskette 1
into drive A.
3. Type "A:\SERVICE" at the OS/2 command
prompt; then press Enter.
4. Select OK to display a list of the Toolkit
products installed on your system. (For
example, if the 2.0 Toolkit is in more than
one partition, the 2.0 Toolkit product will
be listed and selected more than once.)
5. Deselect one or more products that you do
not want to update.
6. To specify the directories you want to
update, do the following:
a. Select Select directories.
b. Deselect the directories you do not
want to update. If you have backup
directories on a drive that is not
listed and you want the updates applied
to those directories, select Select
drives, select the directories, and
then select OK.
c. Select OK.
d. Select Service and then select Continue
to update all changes to selected
directories.
7. Follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.
8. See section below on updating CONFIG.SYS
