  2. IBM OS/2 2.1 SERVICEPAK (XR06200) AVAILABLE

  5. The IBM OS/2 2.1 SERVICEPAK, LEVEL XR06200, is available for immediate
  6. electronic downloading for customers using OS/2 VERSION 2.1.  Starting
  7. March 1, 1994, this servicepak will be available for ordering in both
  8. diskette and CD-ROM formats.  This servicepak does not apply to
  9. customers using OS/2 VERSION 2.1 FOR WINDOWS.  The servicepak contains
  10. fixes for problems reported by customers since OS/2 2.1 was distributed
  11. in June of 1993.

  13. The servicepak is designed to be applied to:
  14.  
  15.    O  OS/2 2.1 AS RELEASED IN JUNE, 1993
  16.    O  OS/2 2.1 PRELOADED SYSTEMS
  17.  
  18. This servicepak does NOT apply to customers using OS/2 VERSION 2.1
  19. FOR WINDOWS.  Although a servicepak for OS/2 VERSION 2.1 FOR WINDOWS
  20. will be made available shortly, the information in this announcement
  21. applies only to the OS/2 VERSION 2.1 product that was made available
  22. in June of 1993.

  24. ORDERING THE SERVICEPAK
  25. -----------------------
  26.  
  27. You may download diskettes of the servicepak electronically or,
  28. starting March 1, 1994, you may order either the diskettes or CD-ROM of
  29. the servicepak by mail.  You may make as many copies of the servicepak
  30. as you have licensed copies of OS/2 2.1.  You may distribute copies to
  31. other properly licensed OS/2 2.1 owners.

  33. A booklet of installation instructions is included with the servicepak.
  34. A "READ ME" file, called README, contains technical considerations.

  37. DOWNLOADING ELECTRONICALLY:
  38.  
  39. Electronic delivery of the servicepak is available from the following
  40. electronic bulletin board systems if you have high-speed communications
  41. to download the diskette images:
  42.  
  43. o  IBM OS2BBS - If you are a subscriber to the OS2BBS, you may
  44.    download the servicepak.  the servicepak is located in the SOFTWARE
  45.    DOWNLOAD LIBRARY.  If you are not a subscriber to the OS2BBS and
  46.    wish to subscribe, please call 1-800-547-1283.

  48. o  COMPUSERVE - Members of the COMPUSERVE information service may
  49.    download the servicepak from the IBM OS2 FORUM LIBRARY (GO IBMSERV).
  50.  
  51. o  INTERNET - Customers having access to INTERNET services can download
  52.    the servicepak from the network.  Customers should do an anonymous
  53.    FTP from "SOFTWARE.WATSON.IBM.COM".  The servicepak is located in
  54.    the "/PUB/OS2" DIRECTORY.
  55.  
  56. o  IBM PERSONAL COMPUTER COMPANY BBS - Customers may call the IBM
  57.    Personal Computer Company BBS by dialing (919) 517-0001 via your
  58.    communications modem.
  59.  
  60. Some of these systems may not be available outside the United States.
  61. If these bulletin board systems are not available in your country,
  62. you can contact your service representative or the place where you
  63. purchased OS/2 2.1.
  64.  
  65. ORDERING BY MAIL (STARTING MARCH 1, 1994)
  66.  
  67. Starting March 1, 1994, if you reside in the U.S. and do not have access
  68. to any of the electronic bulletin board systems, or, if you need the
  69. servicepak delivered on diskettes OR CD-ROM, you may order the
  70. servicepak by calling 1-800-494-3044 and charging the shipping and
  71. handling fees to your credit card.  You may also pay by check or
  72. purchase order.  A two-day express mail service is used to deliver the
  73. servicepak.

  75. The diskette version of the servicepak consists of twenty-one 3-1/2
  76. inch diskettes or twenty-five 5-1/4-inch diskettes.  It will be shipped
  77. for a non-refundable fee of $40.00 plus tax to cover the cost of the
  78. material, shipping and handling.  The CD-ROM version costs a non-
  79. refundable $40.00 plus tax.

  81. When ordering, please specify:
  82.  
  83.    1.Whether you want the 3-1/2-inch diskette, 5-1/4-inch diskette, or
  84.      CD-ROM version of the servicepak.  NOTE: If you want diskettes, be
  85.      sure to order the size that is bootable on your machine (i.e.,
  86.      typically the size of your "A" diskette drive).

  88.    2.A business or home street address (NOT a P.O. BOX).  The 2-day
  89.      express mail service cannot deliver to a P.O. Box)

  91.    3.A current credit card name, expiration date and number to which
  92.      the fee will be charged.
