  19. Subject: Error Message: "Timeout Waiting for POKE Acknowledgement"
  20.  
  21. Situation:
  22. ==========
  23. The message "Timeout Waiting for POKE Acknowledgement" appears when 
  24. trying to access a phonebook from a Personal Information Manager (PIM) 
  25. application, such as Polaris PackRat or Commence.
  26.  
  27. This problem occurs with releases of WinFax PRO 3.0 dated April 21, 1993 
  28. or later. With these releases of the software, WinFax "times out" in 
  29. 15 seconds if the PIM phonebook is not loaded and available.
  30.  
  31. Solution:
  32. =========
  33. Update your WinFax PRO 3.0 installation with the following maintenance
  34. release patch:
  35.  
  36.       WFX3PR.ZIP   Size: 74,151 bytes   Creation Date: 6/4/93
  37.  
  38. The patch changes the WinFax timeout setting to 120 seconds, to allow for 
  39. loading of larger PIM phonebook databases.
  40.  
  41. You can download the patch from one of two sources:

  60. Caution:   This patch can only be applied to WinFax PRO 3.0 versions 
  61.            dated April 21, 1993 or later. To determine the release date 
  62.            of your version, pull down the Help menu in WinFax and select 
  63.            About. If you have an earlier version of WinFax PRO 3.0, 
  64.            download WFX304.ZIP and run that patch before running the 
  65.            WFX3PR.ZIP patch.
