  19. Subject: Specifying Intel SatisFAXtion 100/300/400e As Class 1 
  20.          Fax/Modems
  21.  
  22. Situation:
  23. ==========
  24. Any of the following send/receive problems occur when using WinFax PRO 3.0 
  25. with your Intel SatisFAXtion 100, 300 or 400e (external) fax/modem:
  26.  
  27.   - When you attempt to send a fax, it remains in the event list and is 
  28.     not transmitted.
  29.   - WinFax seems to transmit a fax successfully, but the event is recorded 
  30.     in the send log with an error status.
  31.   - Received faxes do not appear in the event list or receive log.
  32.  
  33. Solution:
  34. =========
  35. When Intel CAS-emulation software is installed with these models of Intel 
  36. SatisFAXtion fax/modems, communication problems may occur. You must disable
  37. the Intel CAS-emulation drivers, then update your WinFax PRO installation 
  38. by changing the fax/modem specification to Class 1.
  39.  
  40. 1.  Open your AUTOEXEC.BAT file in Windows Notepad, or another basic text 
  41.     editor.
  42.  
  43. 2.  Type "REM" at the beginnning of the CASMODEM and FAXPOP lines to 
  44.     disable these expressions, for example:
  45.  
  46.           REM  C:\FAX\CASMODEM.EXE
  47.           REM C:\FAX\FAXPOP.EXE
  48.  
  49. 3.  Save the changes to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, and exit your text editor.
  50.  
  51. 4.  Exit Windows, and reboot your computer so the modifications can take 
  52.     effect.
  53.  
  54. 5.  Follow the procedure for changing your fax/modem specification. See 
  55.     Changing Your Modem, under Adding Options After Installation, in 
  56.     Chapter 2 of the WinFax PRO User's Guide.
  57.  
  58.     Remember to select the generic Class 1 settings for the fax/modem. 
  59.     Do not select CAS as the fax/modem type.
  60.  
  61. Note:   If you continue to experience send/receive problems after 
  62.         modifying your AUTOEXEC.BAT and changing your fax/modem 
  63.         specification to Class 1, contact Delrina Product Support for 
  64.         assistance.
