  19. Subject: Printing in Draft Mode from Microsoft Word for Windows 2.0

  21. Situation:
  22. ==========
  23. When faxing a document from Microsoft Word for Windows 2.0, WinFax is
  24. minimized and the fax is not sent.
  25.  
  26. Solution:

  28. Turn off the "draft output printing" option in Word for Windows as
  29. follows:

  31. 1.  Select the File menu.
  32.  
  33. 2.  Select Print.
  34.  
  35. 3.  Select the Options button.
  36.  
  37. 4.  In the Print options dialog, make sure the Draft Output option
  38.     is disabled.
  39.  
  40. When you select Draft Output mode in Word for Windows, Word does not use
  41. Windows screen- or system fonts, or True Type fonts. Instead, Word tries
  42. to use fonts resident in the target printer. Since WinFax and the
  43. connected fax/modem have no fonts, the text portion of the output page 
  44. is not created. In draft mode, Word also drops graphics, shading and 
  45. lines. As a result, the entire page is not created, and there is nothing
  46. to place in the Pending Log.
