These are the changes you need to make to compile the US version of PGP version
2.6.2 for OS/2 under IBM's Visual Age C++ compiler. You will need a copy of
PGP from MIT to apply the changes in this package. You will also need a copy
of HDIFF which is on CSERVE. The HDIFF package has two programs in it. The
first is a version of DIFF and the second one is an editor that applies the
changes. The major part of the changes are in the makefiles for the product.
To compile an OS/2 version of PGP:
1) Get HDIFF from CSERVE.
2) Install HDIFF/HED into a directory in your PATH.
3) Read README.MIT on how to get the US version of PGP from them.
4) Read and Understand all the information about PGP and the RSA products.
5) UnZip all the PGP zip files. There are a number of them to unzip.
6) Move the file in this package named MAKEFILE.RSA into the RSAREF\TEST
directory. This is the directory the nmake takes place in.
7) Do an NMAKE in the TEST directory to make the RSAREF.LIB.
8) Copy the *.CCH and HEDIT.CMD into the PGP's SRC directory. You should
have for example a PGP.C file and a PGP.CCH file.
9) Copy the MAKEFILE.PGP into the SRC directory.
10) Run HEDIT.CMD. This will FIRST turn off the READ-ONLY attrib. The
original files will be backed up to a *.MAK file.
11) Run NMAKE on the MAKEFILE.PGP. This should build an OS/2 PGP.EXE.
12) Save and replace the DOS PGP.EXE in an upper directory. And follow
the PGP setup installation instructions.
NOTE: The makefile uses EXEPACK:2 in the ILINK stage. So this exe
will be only good under OS/2 3.0 and up.
NOTE: The US version CANNOT BE EXPORTED. And is for your private use only.
