The Image Parts give you the capability to put an image (such as .BMP,
.JPG, .GIF files) on your OpenDoc document. They also have the ability to
display and edit an image.

The Image Parts also have the following functions for manipulation of an
image as shown in <a href="#FIG4610S55">Figure 136</a>:
<p>
<B>Approximate</B> <B>Colors</B> This option will display an image using the
available colors supported by your display.
<p>
<B>High</B> <B>Quality</B> <B>Color</B> <B>Map</B> This option translates the colors of the image so
that they produce the best possible image on a
256-color display.
<p>
<B>Gray</B> <B>scale</B> <B>colors</B> This option allows the image to be displayed
using shades of grey supported by your display.
<p>
<p>
If you select <B>Image</B> <B>editor</B> in the Open as submenu (see <a href="#FIG4610S55">Figure 136</a>), an
image editor window will be displayed as shown in <a href="#FIG4610S56">Figure 137</a>.

The image editor has functionality to manipulate the image data. In
<a href="#FIG4610S58">Figure 139</a> you can see that a part of the bikes image is pasted on the
image of the beach on the right.
<p>
To manipulate the image as in <a href="#FIG4610S58">Figure 139</a>, you should use the following
steps:
<p>
1. Click with mouse button one on the bikes image and mark the area you
want to copy.
<p>
2. Select <B>Copy</B> in the Edit menu of the source image window (left).
<p>
3. Select <B>Paste</B> in the Edit menu of the target image window (right).
<p>
4. Select <B>Save</B> in the Image menu of the target image window.
<p>
<p>
The new resulting image will be present on your current document, and can
also be used in any other document you create.
