The Image Parts give you the capability to put an image (such as .BMP, .JPG, .GIF files) on your OpenDoc document. They also have the ability to display and edit an image.
Figure 136. Image PartThe Image Parts also have the following functions for manipulation of an image as shown in Figure 136:
Approximate Colors This option will display an image using the available colors supported by your display.
High Quality Color Map This option translates the colors of the image so that they produce the best possible image on a 256-color display.
Gray scale colors This option allows the image to be displayed using shades of grey supported by your display.
If you select Image editor in the Open as submenu (see Figure 136), an image editor window will be displayed as shown in Figure 137.

Figure 139. Image Manipulation with Image EditorThe image editor has functionality to manipulate the image data. In Figure 139 you can see that a part of the bikes image is pasted on the image of the beach on the right.
To manipulate the image as in Figure 139, you should use the following steps:
1. Click with mouse button one on the bikes image and mark the area you want to copy.
2. Select Copy in the Edit menu of the source image window (left).
3. Select Paste in the Edit menu of the target image window (right).
4. Select Save in the Image menu of the target image window.
The new resulting image will be present on your current document, and can also be used in any other document you create.
