<a name="HDROPLOC"><H2> 3.4 Locating OpenDoc for OS/2 in The Developer Connection Catalog</H2></a>

<p>
After installing The Developer Connection Catalog on your system, you are
now ready to install OpenDoc for OS/2 Version 1.0. To do so, follow these
steps:
<p>
1. Insert disc 3 of The Developer Connection for OS/2 Volume 9 Special
Edition in your CD-ROM drive (make sure it is marked as Special
Edition).
<p>
2. Double-click on the <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> icon on the Desktop to open
the folder. You will get the contents folder shown in <a href="3.3#FIG4610I02">Figure 69 in</a>
<a href="3.3#FIG4610I02">topic 3.3</a>.
<p>
3. Double-click on the <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> <B>for</B> <B>OS/2</B> icon in The
Developer Connection folder to open the folder. The screen shown in
<a href="#FIG4610I96">Figure 70 </a>will appear.

This folder contains three icons, a Readme file containing information
related to The Developer Connection, and two different The Developer
Connection Catalogs: The Developer Connection Catalog and The
Developer Connection Prototype IPF Catalog. The Developer Connection
Catalog was included in previous The Developer Connection versions and
will be used to install the different products described in this
chapter. The Developer Connection Prototype IPF Catalog (IPF stands
for Information Presentation Facility) shows the catalog in a format
similar to the OS/2 INF files (see <a href="#FIG4610I83">Figure 71</a>).
<p>
Although it can also be used to install different components of the
catalog (including OpenDoc for OS/2 Version 1.0) on your system, we
will not cover it in this book.

4. Double-click on the <B>Developer</B> <B>Connection</B> <B>Catalog</B> in The Developer
Connection for OS/2 folder, shown in <a href="#FIG4610I96">Figure 70</a>, to open the Catalog.
You will get the Main View as shown in <a href="#FIG4610I03">Figure 72</a>.

5. If this is the first time you access The Developer Connection for OS/2
Volume 9 Special Edition Catalog, you will get the What's New in
Volume 9? window. This window will give you information about what
has been added to this new edition.
<p>
You can also click on the <B>What's</B> <B>New?</B> option on the menu bar to access
this information at any time.
<p>
After reviewing this information, close the window to continue.
<p>
6. Double-click on the <B>IBM</B> <B>for</B> <B>OS/2</B> <B>(Discs</B> <B>1/4)</B> icon to expand the
category (you may need to scroll down the categories list to find it).
