  2. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Part Kinds ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  4. Use the Part Kinds Properties page to select a specific part kind to be used 
  5. when creating documents. For example, if you choose the OpenDoc standard Page 
  6. Layout Kind within this page you will automatically get the standard Page 
  7. Layout part when you open a Page Layout template.

  9. Note:  As of this release, only IBM OpenDoc standard and sample part kinds are available.

  11. Use Select Part Kind to choose a kind for the part you want to use in your 
  12. document.  The list provided shows all available part kinds (and their related 
  13. category and editor) located within OpenDoc.

  15. The Kind column displays all available part kinds.  For example, Page Layout 
  16. Kind, Clock Part Kind, etc. 
  17.  
  18. The Category column displays all available part categories.  These categories 
  19. are dependent upon part kind. Only compatible kinds and categories will be 
  20. listed together.  For example, Page Layout Kind - Page Layout ategory, Clock 
  21. Part Kind - Time category.

  23. The Editor column displays all available part editors.  These editors determine 
  24. the part kind and category, and will be displayed with the kind and category 
  25. they control. For example, Page Layout Kind - Page Layout category - Page 
  26. Layout Part editor, Clock Part Kind - Time category- Clock Part editor.

  28. Use Select the Preferred Editor to choose a part editor other than the default 
  29. editor.  This box will display a list of all part editors within OpenDoc that 
  30. can handle the Kind you have selected in the Select the Part Kind window.

  98. used when creating documents. For example, if you choose the file extension 
  99. .TXT within this page you will automatically get files created as plain text 
  100. files using the standard IBM OpenDoc Text Part editor when you open a Text Part 
  101. template.
