  1. As Larry has not yet put together a "proper" User Guide for
  2. the Toolkit, this will have to do for the moment.

  4. For Image Toolkit related problems/questions/suggestions,
  5. please append to TOOLKIT FORUM on IBMPC, or contact Larry
  6. Salomon (LARRYS at YKTVMV).

  9. This package contains the required dlls for this version of
  10. the toolkit.  Download from VM (binary) and unpack IMGTK16
  11. RAMBIN (loadram2) into a directory on your libpath.  From the
  12. command line, enter
  13.  
  14.   itkinsta
  15.  
  16. to start the install program.  At present it does NOT list
  17. the available handlers - you have to know that the only handler
  18. available is
  19.  
  20.   itkfmt16
  21.  
  22. Enter this in the edit field (no path or extension), and after
  23. thinking about it for a second should show up in the installed
  24. list. You're ready to use it from PmDraw.
  25.  
  26. In addition, when exporting to PSEG VM's file formats require
  27. that after uploading you run a VM exec on the resulting file.
  28. This exec is PBIN2PSE EXEC and is included in this package.
  29. Upload your exported pseg file (binary) and from VM, enter
  30.  
  31.     PBIN2PSE  filename PSGBIN
  32.  
  33. (where the exported file was filename.psg).  Note that typical
  34. VM printers have 240 dpi resolution, so if you export your PSEG
  35. at 240 by 240 bitmap size, you'll get a 1x1 inch image on VM.

  37. After installing the Toolkit, start up PmDraw and start an Export.
  38. If everything is ok, you will find several image formats added to
  39. the list in the appropriate format listbox.  If you just have
  40. "Image", the Toolkit or some of the required dlls were not found
  41. by PmDraw - check and make sure that they reside on the libpath.

  43. At present, you should get the following files added to the export
  44. list:

  47.       1.2 BMP
  48.       PSEG

  50. For Import, only Image is listed - select a file and PmDraw will
  51. use the Toolkit to determine if it is a handleable type (for import)
  52. and if so, load it.  At present, handleable import types include
  53.  
  54.       1.1 BMP
  55.       1.2 BMP
  56.       GIF
  57.  
  58. Gif export and a number of OS/2 2.0-related formats are close and
  59. should be coming in over the next few weeks.
