  79.    Installing the C Set ++ from CD-ROM
  80.    ===================================

  82.    Install C Set ++ in the following order:
  83.  
  84.    1. Developer's Toolkit
  85.    2. WorkFrame/2 Version 1.1
  86.    3. WorkFrame/2 Version 2.1
  87.    4. C/C++ Tools
  88.  
  89.    Refer to the booklet that comes with this CD-ROM for detail instructions.
  90.    The following is for your reference only.
  91.  
  92.    To install the WorkFrame/2 Version 1.1, do the following:
  93.    ---------------------------------------------------------
  94.  
  95.    1. Change to the OS2WF11 subdirectory.
  96.    2. Type WFINST and press Enter. Wait for the logo window to appear.
  97.    3. Select OK. The WorkFrame/2 Installation window appears.
  98.    4. Select the target drive and type in the target directory.
  99.    5. Mark the "Update CONFIG.SYS" box if desire.
  100.    6. Select "OK".
  101.    7. Follow the prompts in the message boxes to complete the installation.
  102.  
  103.    To install the WorkFrame/2 Version 2.1, do the following:
  104.    ---------------------------------------------------------
  105.  
  106.    1. Change to the OS2WF21 subdirectory.
  107.    2. Type WFSETUP and press Enter. Wait for the logo window to appear.
  108.    3. Select OK. The WorkFrame/2 Installation window appears.
  109.    4. Select 'Options' from the pull-down menu and select 'Install'.
  110.    5. Select the target drive and type in the target directory.
  111.    6. Select "OK".
  112.    7. After Phase 1 of the installation is completed, shutdown and restart
  113.       your system.  Phase 2 of the installation will start automatically
  114.       and completes the installation.
  115.  
  116.    To install the Developer's Toolkit for OS/2, do the following:
  117.    --------------------------------------------------------------
  118.  
  119.    1. Change to the OS2TK21 subdirectory.
  120.    2. Type INSTALL and press Enter. Wait for the logo window to appear.
  121.    3. Select OK. The Toolkit Installation window appears.
  122.    4. Mark the box for each component to be installed.
  123.    5. Select "Options".
  124.    6. Select "Install".
  125.    7. Follow the prompts in the message boxes to complete the installation
  126.       on the default drive.

  128.    To install the C/C++ Tools, do the following:
  129.    ---------------------------------------------
  130.  
  131.    1. Change to the OS2CPP subdirectory.
  132.    2. Type CPPINST and press Enter. Wait for the logo window to appear.
  133.    3. Select OK. The C/C++ Tools Installation window appears.
  134.    4. If this is the first time installing this version of C/C++ Tools,
  135.       a window will display saying no previous installation is found.
  136.       Select "Ignore".
  137.    5. Select the target drive, type in the target directory and
  138.       select the options you want to install.
  139.    6. Select "Install".
  140.    7. Follow the prompts in the message boxes to complete the installation.

  142.    Using the Developer's Toolkit for OS/2 on CD-ROM
  143.    ------------------------------------------------
  144.  
  145.    Toolkit files in this directory can be used directly from this CD-ROM.
  146.  
  147.    To use the installed version of the Toolkit on this CD-ROM:
  148.  
  149.    1. Change to the TOOLKT21\OS2BIN subdirectory
  150.    2. Type TK21DESK and press Enter.
  151.       This creates the OS/2 Toolkit folder on your desktop.
  152.    3. This command file also allows you to update your CONFIG.SYS.
  153.       The current CONFIG.SYS is renamed to CONFIG.TK and a new CONFIG.SYS
  154.       is created with updated environment variables.
  155.    4. Shutdown and restart your system for changes to CONFIG.SYS to take
  156.       effect.
  157.  
  158.    Note: The working directories for the Dialog, Icon, and Font Editors are
  159.    set to the root directory of the drive where OS/2 2.1 is installed.

  161.    See the section "Restrictions and Limitations on using Toolkit on CD-ROM"
  162.    under "Additional Toolkit Information" for additional information when
  163.    using the Toolkit from CD-ROM.

  165.    Installing the Multimedia Presentation Manager Toolkit/2 from CD-ROM
  166.    --------------------------------------------------------------------

  168.    OS/2 2.1 with the MMPM/2 system must be installed in your computer
  169.    before the MMPM/2 toolkit can be installed.  To install the toolkit:
  170.  
  171.    1. Insert the C Set ++ CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
  172.    2. Select the 'Multimedia Install' object from the MMPM/2 folder.  The
  173.       MMPM/2 Installation window appears.
  174.    3. Change the source drive and path information in the upper-left corner
  175.       of the main install panel to the CD drive and the \MMPM2TK path.
  176.    4. Follow the instructions on your screen.

  197.    If you have the CD-ROM version of C Set ++ , you can create diskettes
  198.    from the CD-ROM for backup purposes, or to allow you to install
  199.    on a workstation without a CD-ROM drive.

  214.    Printing publications on a PostScript printer

  217.    There are softcopy publications in PostScript format that can be printed
  218.    using a PostScript printer.

  221.    Reading publications in BookManager Read format

  224.    Publications in BookManager Read format (.BOO) are located in the
  225.    \BOOKS directory of this CD-ROM.  The BookManager bookshelf for the
  226.    C Set ++ library is located in the \SHELVES directory.

  229.    please refer to the README.ENG file on the root directory of this
  230.    CD-ROM.

  233.    Additional Toolkit information

  236.    Debug versions of the OS/2 kernel, Presentation Manager and symbol files
  237.    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

  239.    The subdirectory \OS2TK21\DEBUG contains debug files for the
  240.    following versions of OS/2:

  248.    The installation program on this CD-ROM will select the appropriate debug

  259.    The PM Debugger that comes with the C/C++ Tools will debug most
  260.    applications.  Debug Kernel is more useful if you are developing
  261.    system applications such as device drivers.

  263.    Restrictions and Limitations on using Toolkit on CD-ROM
  264.    -------------------------------------------------------

  266.    Running Sample Programs:
  267.  
  268.    Some of the functions in the REXX Utility Functions Sample create
  269.    temporary files on the drive on which the OS/2 Toolkit is installed.
  270.    Therefore, if you are running the Toolkit from the CD-ROM, executing
  271.    these functions in the REXX Utility Function Sample will generate
  272.    errors because this is a read-only device.
