ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. EXTRA Options ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the EXTRA Options notebook to specify the parameters to be passed to the
IBM* C/C++ Tools Execution Trace Analyzer (EXTRA) when you start it from the
WorkFrame/2 environment.
In this notebook, you can:
o Specify any parameters you want to pass to the program to be traced
o Specify whether you would like EXTRA to prompt you for parameters to pass to
your program when it starts up.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> OK ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the OK push button save the EXTRA options settings and close the
Browser Options notebook.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Cancel push button to remove the EXTRA Options notebook from the
screen without saving any changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Help push button to get help on the EXTRA Options notebook.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. Program Parameters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In the Program Parameters entry field, type any parameters you want to pass to
your program.
You can also specify program parameters when EXTRA starts up by selecting the
Prompt required checkbox.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.2. Prompt ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use the Prompt group box to specify whether you would like EXTRA to display the
Startup Information action window when it starts up. The Startup Information
window prompts you for the parameters you want to pass to your program during
the profiling run.
For a detailed explanation of each field, select its name from the list below:

Select Prompt required checkbox to have the Startup Information window
displayed when EXTRA starts up.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.2.2. Title ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In the Title entry field, type any description or title that relates to your
program or project. The title you specify will be displayed in the Startup
Information action window when EXTRA starts up.
This option is unavailable when the Prompt required checkbox is not selected.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Reset Page ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Reset Page push button to update the EXTRA options settings in
this page with their initial values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Default ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Default push button to update the EXTRA options with their default
values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Invocation Parameters ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In the Invocation Parameters entry field, type any parameters you want to pass
to your program.
Initially, this field contains the parameters you entered in the Program
Parameters field of the EXTRA Options notebook. To change the parameters to
pass to your program, type the new parameters in the field.
Any parameters you specify in this field override any parameters specified in
the Program Parameters field in the EXTRA Options notebook.
If you leave this field blank, no parameters are passed to your program.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> OK ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the OK push button to pass any specified invocation parameters to your
program and run your program under the control of EXTRA.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Reset ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Reset push button to update the Invocation Parameters field with
its initial value.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Default ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Default push button to update the Invocation Parameters field with
the system default value, that is, a blank field.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Cancel push button to close the EXTRA Options notebook without
saving any changes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Click on the Help push button to get help on the Startup Information window.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Message Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Explanation:
You have chosen to discard any changes you made to the EXTRA options settings.
Recovery
Select Yes to discard the changes and close the EXTRA Options notebook. Select
No to retain the changes and return to the previous page without exiting from
the notebook.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Message Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Explanation:
An error occurred while trying to allocate memory. There may be insufficient
memory to complete the task.
Recovery:
Close one or more other tasks, and retry the command.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Message Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Explanation:
The options file for your project has been corrupted.
Recovery:
Select the Default pushbutton to use the default options, then reset them to
your preferred settings.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ <hidden> Message Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Explanation:
You are using the incorrect version of the options file for your project.
Recovery:
Select Yes to map your option settings to the current version.
Note: Because options have changed between versions, the mapping will not be
complete. Settings for options that have been added since the previous
version will be set to the default.
Select No to use the default settings.
