2. About this version
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
This version (1.1) is the Warp 4 enhanced version. The unregistered version
has some limitations. See "register.doc" and the online help for more
information.
There will be future versions of Toyland with new levels, states, features,
etc.
The game has been tested since August 95 by 33 beta testers. It has been
public since October 95.
Although this game is the release version and has been tested with several
systems, there might still be some problems with certain hardware combinations.
Certain sound drivers are known to create problems - see readme.1st for
more information.
3. What Do You Need to Run Toyland
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) OS/2: The game has been tested on Warp only but it should
also work with 2.x
2.) A graphic adapter with at least 256 colors / better with hi-color
4. Installation, Uninstallation
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This version features an installation utility. It is the install program
by IBM. You can use it for easy installation and maintenance but you
don't have to. Once you have used it run the install program again if
you should want to remove Toyland - this way you make sure every object
is removed. However your player data, ini-file and exported levels will
not be deleted by the uninstaller. So you can backup your own data.
If you prefer to install Toyland manually you can either create a
program icon for Toyland.exe or type Toyland at the command
prompt. The game must be started from its directory - so if you create
a program icon make sure you set the Working directory to the
respective path.
The game creates files (players, options) ONLY in the start directory
and the /data subdirectory. It doesn't change the system's ini-files
or your config.sys so you just have to delete the directory (and the
subdirectories) to get rid of Toyland.
5. Where to Find More Information
------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all take a look at the online help that comes with the game.

6. Benefits of the Registered Version
------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Levels can be exported / imported. They can be exchanged via email since
they are 7-bit encoded. If you join the Toyland mailing list you can
send your levels and receive others - so there is no limit to the
number of levels.
- This version has 104 levels. All of these are available to the registered
users while the unregistered version only has 12 levels. Each additional
level set can be used by registered users without additional fee.
- All worlds (states) will be available to the registered users. I will
continue development. The CPU state is the first registered only state.
- Finishing levels are only available to registered users.
- Full support by the author: I am interested in everything you report.
If you have ideas, bug reports or problems: I am all ears - and those
ears hear better on the registered side ;-)
- Easy upgrade: Whenever a new version of Toyland is released you can
simply use your reg-file to have it registered.
