  19. 1) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  20. 100% Windows 95/98 DirectX compatible computer required.
  21. NOTE: Your system may require the latest DirectX drivers for 
  22. your Windows 95/98 system.
  23.  
  24. Pentium 200 or faster required.
  25.  
  26. 32 MB or higher RAM required.

  28. 2 MB PCI Graphics card required.

  30. Optional 3D graphics support requires a Direct3D compatible 
  31. 4MB PCI or AGP 3D accelerator.

  33. Quad speed or faster CD-ROM drive required for the full
  34. version of the game.

  36. 100% Windows 95/98 DirectX compatible 16-bit sound card 
  37. required.

  39. Mouse, Keyboard and Joystick required. Optional support for 
  40. Force-Feedback DirectInput compatible joysticks.

  42. Microsoft DirectX 6.0 must be installed before playing the
  43. X-Wing Alliance demo. A link to the Microsoft DirectX page

  47. 2) QUICK START
  48. To run the X-Wing Alliance Demo, double-click Alliance.exe 
  49. in your install folder (C:\Program Files\LucasArts\X-Wing 
  50. Alliance Demo\ by default).  Then select Play X-wing 
  51. Alliance Demo on the Launcher.
  52.  
  53. This will take you to the Mission Description screen, where
  54. you can choose Quick Start, to jump right into flight, or
  55. view the mission briefing.  Whether you choose to fly
  56. immediately or view the briefing first, you'll start off
  57. in the hangar. Select Launch or press the Spacebar to leave
  58. the hangar.
  59.  
  60. Once in flight, you'll control your craft with the joystick.
  61. Pull back to lift the nose of your craft up, push forward to
  62. drop it.  Moving the stick to the right or left will rotate 
  63. your craft to the right or left, respectively.

  66. These are the basic keys you'll need to use if you want to 
  67. start flying right away:

  69. R    Target nearest enemy fighter
  70.  
  71. E    Target nearest craft targeting you

  73. T    Cycle forward through targets
