NOTE: Your system may require the latest DirectX drivers for your Windows 95/98 system. Pentium 200 or faster required. 32 MB or higher RAM required. 2 MB PCI Graphics card required. Optional 3D graphics support requires a Direct3D compatible 4MB PCI or AGP 3D accelerator. Quad speed or faster CD-ROM drive required for the full version of the game. 100% Windows 95/98 DirectX compatible 16-bit sound card required. Mouse, Keyboard and Joystick required. Optional support for Force-Feedback DirectInput compatible joysticks. Microsoft DirectX 6.0 must be installed before playing the X-Wing Alliance demo. A link to the Microsoft DirectX page is available at the LucasArts website. 2) QUICK START To run the X-Wing Alliance Demo, double-click Alliance.exe in your install folder (C:\Program Files\LucasArts\X-Wing Alliance Demo\ by default). Then select Play X-wing Alliance Demo on the Launcher. This will take you to the Mission Description screen, where you can choose Quick Start, to jump right into flight, or view the mission briefing. Whether you choose to fly immediately or view the briefing first, you'll start off in the hangar. Select Launch or press the Spacebar to leave the hangar. Once in flight, you'll control your craft with the joystick. Pull back to lift the nose of your craft up, push forward to drop it. Moving the stick to the right or left will rotate your craft to the right or left, respectively. Essential Controls These are the basic keys you'll need to use if you want to start flying right away: R Target nearest enemy fighter E Target nearest craft targeting you T Cycle forward through targets O Target nearest objective N Next Hyperspace Buoy Backspace Full Throttle [ 1/3 Throttle (You turn faster when you're flying at this speed.) W Switch weapon systems X Lock turret cannon forward G Go to gunner turret F (In cockpit) Tell turret to fire at current target F (In turret) Autopilot. Tracks current target.
