  2. Getting Help

  5. MaxiPlan  On-Line Help is designed to give you fast information to get
  6. you started using MaxiPlan . Each Menu has an associated Help Menu
  7. Item which gives a brief explanation of that Menu Item.
  8.  
  9. The Control Window has one menu called the Control Menu.
  10.  
  11. Control Menu has many of the same commands that appear on the
  12. Project Menu.  Please see the Project Menu Help File.

  15. Printer Control
  16. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.  
  18. The Printer Control Menu is available when a Worksheet is open.  It
  19. allows you to access many of the more frequently used commands for
  20. printing found in Preferences.  Any changes will be saved to the
  21. Preferences File.  To learn more about the commands on this Menu
  22. see the discussion of Preferences in your Amiga Manual.

  42. Active Cell Movement                              
  43. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  44. The Active Cell can be moved about the Worksheet by several methods.
  45.  
  46. *  Pointer and Select (left) Mouse Button - Point to any Cell and
  47.    then click on the Cell with the left mouse button to make that Cell
  48.    the Active Cell
  49.  
  50. *  Tab Key - moves the Active Cell to the right one Column
  51.  
  52. *  Return Key - generally moves the Active Cell down on Row unless
  53.    Return Key movement altered under the Options Menu
  54.  
  55. *  Arrow Keys - four arrow keys move Active Cell in designated
  56.    direction
  57.  
  58. *  Shift Arrow - moves Active Cell to the last Cell in the
  59.    direction of the Arrow Key
  60.  
  61. *  Control with Return - moves Active Cell to Column A of the 
  62.    next Row
  63.  
  64. *  F9 with Shift - moves Active Cell to Cell Address A1
  65.  
  66. *  F10 with Shift - moves Active Cell to Cell Address in last
  67.    Row furthest to the right.

  69. *  Wordstar Keys - Control with X moves Active Cell Down
  70.                  - Control with S moves Active Cell Left
  71.                  - Control with D moves Active Cell Right
  72.                  - Control with E moves Active Cell Up

  75.    Items for relocating the window on the Worksheet and selecting
  76.    a Range and/or moving the Active Cell.

  79. Mouse Buttons

  82. Menu (right) Mouse Button - pulls down Menus and selects Menu Items

  84. Select (left) Mouse Button - selects Active Cell, File Names,
  85. Function Names, Named Ranges, Formula Buttons, File and Drawer Icons,
  86. highlights Ranges, activates Scroll Bars, Close Gadget, and Window
  87. Sizing Gadget.

  90. Cursor

  93. The Cursor is the site of current input in the Cell Contents Display.
  94. It can be moved with Arrow Keys or the Tab Key.

  100. The Function Keys (F1-F10) perform several  commonly used MaxiPlan 
  101. functions with one keystroke.  A template is supplied with MaxiPlan 
  102. which you can place in the tray above the function keys to provide
  103. a quick reference.

  107. F1 - Calculate Now    Shifted F1 - Save
  108. F2 - Cut              Shifted F2 - Print
  109. F3 - Copy             Shifted F3 - Align 
  110. F4 - Paste            Shifted F4 - Paste Data
  111. F5 - Clear            Shifted F5 - Clear Data
  112. F6 - Select Cell      Shifted F6 - Easy Sort
  113. F7 - Fill Right       Shifted F7 - Sort
  114. F8 - Fill Down        Shifted F8 - Find
  115. F9 - Insert Row       Shifted F9 - Select A1
  116. F10 - Insert Column   Shifted F10 - Select Last Cell

  119. Selecting Ranges

  121. A Range is a collection of Cells.  Generally a Range is selected by
  122. clicking on the top left most Cell and dragging the Pointer to the
  123. bottom right most Cell.  See manual for other methods for selecting
  124. large Ranges.

  127. Sub Menus

  130. MaxiPlan  has 8 pull down Menus.  Many of the Menu Items have
  131. Submenus listing selections for the Menu Item.  To select a Menu
  132. Item, click the Menu (right) mouse button, pull down the Menu and
  133. move the highlight stripe to Menu Item and then on the Submenu Item,
  134. if a Submenu is present. Release mouse button.

  137. Formulas

  140. Calculations on the MaxiPlan  Worksheet are performed by Formulas 
  141. entered into the Cells.  A Formula always begins with an equal
  142. sign "=" and is followed by Cell References, operators, and possibly
  143. built-in Functions.  Many of the elements of a Formula can be 
  144. inputted by clicking on the Formula Buttons across the top of the
  145. Worksheet Window.

  148. Named Ranges

  151. After a Range has been selected, you can name it for future
  152. reference.  The name is specified in the Edit Menu under the Menu
  153. Item Define Name.
