  1. The attribute-editing window.

  4. This window will be opened when you click Menu on a group in the summary
  5. window, and select 'Edit…'.
  6. It allows you to set and clear various flags concerning the messages, such as
  7. the 'Marked' or 'Sent' status.
  8. The window displays which messages you are about to edit; these are the ones
  9. in the group upon which you clicked Menu.
  10. You can further specify a part of that group by selecting a split-date and
  11. whether they are before or after that date.
  12. The two buttons 'Dated' and 'Received' refer to the two different dates stored
  13. with the messages. The 'Dated'-date is the one from the real message, and
  14. is usually set when the message is sent. The 'Received'-date is set when the
  15. message is tossed by FidoMail.
  16. If neither 'Before' nor 'After'is selected, the date will not be used (which
  17. is much faster).
  18. If one of them is selected, the action will depend on the 'Dated' and
  19. 'Received' buttons like this:

  23. Off    Off        either dated OR received before/after the split-date.
  24. On    Off        dated before/after the split-date.
  25. Off    On        received before/after the split-date.
  26. On    On        dated AND received before/after the split-date.

  28. So, if you want to edit all the messages received before 13 Dec 1993:
  29. Select 'Received', deselect 'Dated', select 'Before', and set the date to
  30. 13 Dec 1993.

  32. The rest of the window specifies what is to be done with the messages it finds.
  33. By clicking the buttons, you can set and clear the various flags. If no buttons
  34. are clicked for a flag, it will be preserved as it is.
