- FIND
- ====
-
- The FIND facility allows you to search an account for a particular
- entry or set of entries. The results of the search can be saved to a
- special account called 'Find' which is thereafter treated as a normal
- account although it cannot be edited.
-
- There are 4 search parameters, which can be filled in or left blank as
- desired.
-
- FROM/TO
-
- Enter an account from the normal menu.
-
- AMOUNT
-
- Enter an amount manually, all entries matching the number will be
- found whether they are credits or debits. The decimal point needs to
- be entered. If you wish to be specific about the entry a '+' or '-' in
- front of the number will limit the finds to credits or debits.
-
- TRANSACTION
-
- The Transaction menu (click menu) can be used to enter a transaction
- type. However, this menu is the one appropriate to the account entered
- in the FROM/TO box or the last account used if no entry is made in the
- FROM/TO box. Not all relevant transactions may be listed so you can
- also type a transaction type into this box (click select to put cursor
- in box).
-
- COMMENTS
-
- Either enter a comment from the 'Comments' menu or type one in.
-
- SAVE FINDS
-
- Clicking over this button toggles the SAVE faclity on and off.
-
- FIND
-
- Initiates the search
-
- CLEAR
-
- Clears the data for another search.
-
- RESULTS
-
- A message will be given stating the number of matching entries found,
- these will be marked by inverting the text colours of the entries
- matched. The marked entries can be returned to normal by clicking
- adjust over any of them. If 'save finds' has been selected then the
- active account display will be replaced by a display of the Find
- account containing all matched entries after the message has been
- acknowledged.
-
- THE FIND ACCOUNT
-
- This is available from the SEE ACCOUNT entry on the TOOLBAR and in the
- GRAPHS facility. It appears as an archive file when displayed. It is
- overwritten by subsequent 'save find' operations, but can be copied
- and renamed if you wish to keep the results as an archive file. You
- will find it in the 'data' directory.
