DOOM Master Examination / DM-RDK rkent@lynx.dac.neu.edu
System used: 486DX/40MHz, 8MB RAM, ATI UltraPro 2MB VRAM Vesa Local Bus,
Sound Blaster Pro II, DOOM 1.666
Controls used: Basic keyboard: Arrows, ALT-strafe, SHIFT-run, CTRL-fire
Authentication: RRFF-RFRF
Levels given: E1M6, E2M8, E3M1
Levels: E1M6 I decided to do the dance at the start, even though the monsters
got a jump on me. The level is pretty straight forward, and I
ran around killing them all, wish the chainsaw was on that level
as I enjoy it as much as the shotgun.
E2M8 I did the dance at the start, it's the only safe place on the
entire level. I thought about chainsawing the cyber-demon,
but that wouldn't be fair on my part. This was not easy....as
we all know. I wasted a lot of rockets, as I knew there were
more than enough on that level to kill him. I didn't kill him
the wimpy way (i.e. get him in a room and strafe by while
launching rockets at will) Enjoy!
E3M1 Once again I did the dance at the start, even though the imps
crowded me a little. I really like this level, even though it
is really easy. I used to play this level all the time on Doom
1.2 doing deathmatch. It's a great level for 3 player deathmatch.
FREE I decided to create my own level, and see if I could kill the
cyber-demon with a shotgun. I loaded lots of shells and
shotguns as I had no idea how much I would need to do the job.
My 'style' is that I fought the cyber-demon on a fairly open
arena using a shotgun without any power-ups, i.e. %100 health
and %0 armor. There was no additional health on the level.
Enjoy. Maybe I could demonstrate some of my carving skills
if anyone ever wants to play some deathmatch in the (617)
area code, or over the net.
FREE.WAD is a level thought up by Richard Kent and can be freely distributed
and modified (I really don't care what you do to it.) Keep in mind, that
should you use it, ID SOFTWARE will in no way help you with any trouble
you may have. Also, I couldn't resist, but the keyboard is the only way to
go..... the mouse sucks the big one. :-P
