  1. HOW TO INSTALL MPI/GAMMA
  2.  
  3. 1)
  4. Install GAMMA in your cluster and test its functionality (for instance,
  5. run the "ping_pong" and the "barrier" microbenchmarks included in the
  6. GAMMA distribution).

  8. 2)
  9. Get the latest distribution of MPI/GAMMA from
  10. ftp://ftp.disi.unige.it/pub/project/gamma/
  11. in the form of a gzipped tar file named mpigamma-YY-MM-DD.tar.gz .

  13. 3)
  14. Get MPICH 1.1.2 and install its source tree somewhere in you file system.
  15. You can get MPICH 1.1.2 at the following URL:
  16. ftp://ftp.disi.unige.it/pub/project/gamma/mpich-1.1.2.tar.gz

  18. Let's suppose you have the MPICH source tree rooted at /usr/local/mpich .

  21. Put mpigamma-YY-MM-DD.tar.gz at /usr/local, then issue
  22. tar xvzf mpigamma-YY-MM-DD.tar.gz .

  24. 5)
  25. Read the file /usr/local/mpich/README.GAMMA and follow its directions.
