  18.   It is IMPORTANT that you read this README file and all the
  19.   supplied documentation BEFORE you continue the installation!
  20.   Otherwise the company cannot accept any responsibility for claims
  21.   that result as a consequence.

  25. 2. Installation Instructions
  26. ----------------------------
  27. 1.  Download these drivers and note the path to which they reside in your system.
  28. 2.  Open the Windows NT Control Panel or right-click on your desktop and choose
  29.     Properties.
  30. 3.  Click on the Settings tab.
  31. 4.  Click the Display Type... button. 
  32. 5.  Click the Change... button
  33. 6.  Click the Have Disk... button.
  34. 7.  In the space labeled Copy manufacturers files from, type "X:\..." (where X:\...
  35.     is the path to which you downloaded these drivers).  
  36. 8.  Next click OK when you see the driver entry: 
  37.     "Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. Stealth II Series"
  38. 9.  A "Third-party Drivers" dialog box will appear, select Yes to proceed, then
  39.     click OK. 
  40. 10.  Now click Close, then click Close again. 
  41. 11.  "System Settings Change" dialog box will appear, select Yes to restart the
  42.      computer.
  43. 12.  Once Windows NT 4.0 restarts, you will have successfully installed the
  44.      software for your Diamond Stealth II S220 board.

  48. 3.  Choosing a Monitor
  49. -----------------------
  50.   Please be aware that you can only take full advantage of the features
  51.   provided by the Viper 330 Multi-Monitor driver if the other components
  52.   of your system, especially the graphic monitor that is being used, also
  53.   comply with the specifications of the Viper 330. 
  54.   (Example : The resolution 1280x1024 that is supported by the Viper 330
  55.   can obviously not be used with a monitor that is
  56.   specified to only support resolutions up to 1024x768).

  58.   To set the display resolution and refresh rate for Windows NT 4, use
  59.   Display Properties Settings.

  63.   Only use settings that your monitor supports. If you use the monitor
  64.   outside the specified ratings then it may suffer permanent damage!
  65.   If you change the monitor then you must compare the ratings first
  66.   and should reconfigure accordingly!

  70. 4. Known Issues
  71. ---------------
  72.    a. Using Desktop Manager may corrupt system during reconfiguration.

  74.    b. Playing video may hang the system.
  75.  
  76.    c. MCD does not clear screen properly. 
  77.   
  78.    d. In order to uninstall, goto "My Computer" and delete the subdirectiries
  79.       from the drive where you have it installed.

  81.    e. Diamond supports up to 4 PCI boards/monitors.
  82.  
  83.    f.  OpenGL Conformance Test: this test may show "Buffer Variance Tests" fail 
  84.       (e.g., CONFORM16.LOG in WHQL full regression). This kind of errror can 
  85.       show up where there are fairly steep changes in color or texture coordinates.
  86.       Visually it can't be detected, but can be tested for.
