  6.        This is the Region 11 For Sale echo, Tag R11FORSALE, coordinated by
  7.        Steven Pierson (1:2222/748). This echo is for the buying and selling
  8.        of personal belongings ONLY. Commercial use is strictly forbidden.
  9.  
  10.        R11FORSALE Echo Rules:
  11.  
  12.        1.  No commercial advertisements allowed.
  13.            Commercial vendors may also not reply to wanted posts in this echo.
  14.            Posting "I can get that for you for $$" is a violation of the rules
  15.            and can result in loss of access to this area.
  16.  
  17.            An ad is considered commercial if:
  18.                -=-   It is posted by a dealer or business representing
  19.                      itself as such.
  20.                -=-   It implies that the item(s) for sale are new with
  21.                      a new warranty.
  22.                -=-   It offers a service.
  23.                -=-   In the opinion of the Moderator, it is commercial.

  25.        2.  No flames or personal attacks or insults. If anyone has a problem
  26.            with another in this echo send netmail to the Moderator and we will
  27.            deal with it out of the echo.
  28.  
  29.        3.  No personal messages or "chatting"
  30.  
  31.        4.  Only legal merchandise is to be advertised.
  32.            NO illegal activity or item may be advertised.
  33.            Any person breaking this rule will be immediately removed from the
  34.            echo.  No warnings, no exceptions.
  35.  
  36.        5.  Taglines that are inflammatory or otherwise judged inappropriate in
  37.            the echo by the moderator shall be prohibited. If in doubt as to
  38.            whether yours might be in violation ask yourself "would this be
  39.            likely to bother others".
  40.  
  41.        6.  Quoting must be limited to the part of a message to which one is
  42.            replying and may not exceed 25% of the original message.
  43.  
  44.        7.  Adult material (any material not appropriate for a minor to have or
  45.            view) will not be allowed. This specifically refers to XXX CD-ROMs
  46.            but is not limited to them.  All adult for sale items must be moved
  47.            to an echo that is for that purpose.

  49.        8.  Chain letter type Ads of any kind and Pyramid schemes are expressly
  50.            forbidden! People found in violation of this rule will receive ONE
  51.            AND ONLY ONE WARNING.
  52.  
  53.        9.  No BBS Ads, home page ads, or other World Wide Web page ads.

  55.       10.  Be friendly.
  56.  
  57.       11.  Arguing with the moderator in the echo is defined as "excessively
  58.            annoying" and may result in immediate cutting of feeds.
  59.  
  60.       12.  Any reports of dishonest transactions by anyone in the echo must
  61.            be reported to the Moderator.  He will keep track of bad dealings
  62.            in the echo and take care of those who will not conduct themselves
  63.            in a honorable manner.
  64.  
  65.       13.  Handles or nicknames are permitted as long as one posts his or her
  66.            real name along with another means of contact (Internet address,
  67.            telephone number, etc.).
  68.  
  69.  Strong suggestions:    (Not mandatory, unless they are abused)
  70.  
  71.        1.  Put a price on it.  Its nice to know how much you expect from
  72.            your stuff.
  73.  
  74.        2.  Don't take offense at a counter offer.  If its too low, just say
  75.            so, or ignore it. Flaming someone because you feel that their
  76.            price is too high could cost your access.
  77.  
  78.        3.  We would all like to know where you are and a phone number
  79.            (including Area Code) Some boards don't put enough info in their
  80.            Origin lines
  81.  
  82.        4.  Hold down the ASCII Art.
  83.  
  84.        5.  Put what you are selling in the subject line of the message,
  85.            putting down FOR SALE doesn't say much in a For Sale echo.
  86.  
  87.        6.  If someone is having trouble keeping for-sale posts under the size
  88.            limits, the author of the list could do the following:
  89.                (1) Break the list up in a weekly format. Example half
  90.                    the list one week, the other half the next week.
  91.                (2) Indicate that the entire forsale listing is available from
  92.                    the author via FidoNet netmail.
  93.  
  94.     ** Persons breaking the rules except will be first publicly warned in
  95.        this echo except where stated differently above.  A subsequent
  96.        violation by the same person will result in a personal netmail warning
  97.        as well as a public warning in the echo.  A third infraction of the
  98.        rules will result in that person being removed from the echo,
  99.        according to FIDONET Policy without any further notice.

  101. All comments can be sent to Steven Pierson at 1:2222/748.  All flames to the
  102. bit bucket.  To keep the off topic traffic in the echo to a minimum, the
  103. cries of the "innocent" must be sent to via NETMAIL, not posted in the echo.
  104. If you are unclear as to what netmail is or how it is done, please ask your
  105. local sysop.  All abuse of this stricture shall be considered "excessively
  106. annoying".
