  14.                  regarding culinary, aromatic, esthetic, medicinal,
  15.                  and nutritional herbs, including gardening and
  16.                  growing, regulation, industry, markets,
  17.                  exportation, importation, crafting, cooking,
  18.                  and other herb-related topics.

  20. OFF-TOPIC:       Arguments; flaming; active marketing and
  21.                  advertisement without prior approval
  22.                  (approval will be granted under certain
  23.                  restrictions); non-herbal and other
  24.                  unrelated discussion.

  26.                  Those who want to talk to me about something, and
  27.                  it is not within the topic of herbs, use netmail.

  29.                  Those who wish to talk to others about something
  30.                  that is NOT on topic, please use another means of
  31.                  communication than this echo, e.g., fidonet
  32.                  netmail, internet e-mail, voice, etc.

  35. TOLERATION:      Quick and friendly exchanges of well-being
  36.                  ("Hello!  How is the weather in Australia?", etc.)
  37.                  are permitted.  But, refrain from long, drawn-out
  38.                  exchanges about your family life.

  40. FREQ. OF RULES:  These rules shall be posted once a month, absent
  41.                  technical difficulties.

  43. ON BREAKING:     If you break the rules, and claim, "I did not
  44.                  know the rules," you are still held accountable.
  45.                  The Moderator will generally issue a warning.
  46.                  After good effort on the part of the Moderator
  47.                  to draw a person into adherence to the conference
  48.                  rules, the person will be allowed to continue IF
  49.                  that person does begin to abide by the rules.  IF
  50.                  that person REFUSES to abide by the rules, the
  51.                  moderator may, pursuant to Fidonet procedures,
  52.                  limit the access of that person to this conference.

  62.    and ok'd by the moderator.  Such ads will ONLY be of the type
  63.    that share information of an HERBAL nature that is of interest
  64.    to the majority of participants (an example of which is a SEED
  65.    catalog or something).  Again, these need to be ok'd by the
  66.    moderator BEFORE POSTING!  YOU CAN GET SUCH PERMISSION IF YOU
  67.    TRY.  AGAIN, IT MUST BE HERBAL RELATED.

  69. 4. Discussion of substances cannot be made illegal in a country
  70.    where we have a first amendment right to free speech.  And,
  71.    this wouldn't be the sort of place a person would want to
  72.    live if there were governmental restrictions on discussion.

  74.    However, please use tact, discretion, and courtesy in
  75.    discussing legal issues regarding herbs and herbs that
  76.    raise legal issues.

  78. 4. LET'S REMAIN RELIGIOUSLY NEUTRAL HERE, neither advocating nor
  79.    attacking religious and spiritual ideologies.  Keep your
  80.    dialog on the topic of HERBS and closely related information.

  82. 5. Courtesy is required.  Arguments can happen, but flames and
  83.    insults are not allowed.  If you have complaints about users
  84.    of the echo then voice them in direct netmail (if you are a
  85.    sysop) or internet e-mail, not in this echo. (Regular users
  86.    can ask their sysop to forward Fidonet netmail for them.)
