  21. While THE BIBLE welcomes participation by all persons, regardless of
  22. religious persuasion, there are a few guidelines for posting on this
  23. conference.

  25. 1.  THE BIBLE Conference is intended for the discussion of Biblical
  26.     passages, from an evangelical perspective.  While many different
  27.     views are sure to be presented (and this is encouraged), it is
  28.     expected that EVERYONE will respect each others opinions and ideas.
  29.     It is allowed to disagree with other users; however, PERSONAL
  30.     ATTACKS against individuals will not be tolerated.  One personal
  31.     attack will result in a warning; further violations of this guideline
  32.     will result in having your access to this conference permanently
  33.     terminated.

  35. 2.  THE BIBLE Conference recognizes that there are many modern translations
  36.     of the Bible available.  While discussions comparing the rendering of
  37.     various Biblical passages is encouraged, this conference is not the
  38.     place to preach the merits of any of particular translation.  While some
  39.     will contend that the Bible is "inerrant in the original manuscripts"
  40.     it is recognized that these are NOT available to us.  Therefore,
  41.     use whatever translation you are comfortable with hen quoting citations
  42.     in your posts.  We will limit our discussion to the 66 books of
  43.     Scripture found in the Protestant Canon (with apologies to our Roman
  44.     Catholic and Anglican friends who also use the Apocryphal books from
  45.     time to time).

  47. 3.  Discussions on THE BIBLE Conference are intended to help persons come
  48.     to a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the Bible.  You may
  49.     express whatever ideas and opinions you have, providing you can
  50.     demonstrate a Biblical basis for your view.  Opinions that have not
  51.     been well thought out are generally unreliable!

  53. 4.  Please DO NOT enter multi-part messages (i.e. 1 of 2, 2 of 2, etc.)
  54.     THE-BIBLE echo is for discussion. . .if you are posting multiple-part
  55.     messages, it is very likely you are not discussing with us.  You are
  56.     probably preaching to us.  Refer to Rule #3 above regarding:  a.) the
  57.     intention of THE BIBLE Conference; and, b.) your opinions and ideas.

  59. 5.  Advertisements for particular churches or church related events ARE
  60.     NOT PERMITTED on this conference.  While we wish to offer our support
  61.     and encouragement to all of our fellow Christians, that is simply not
  62.     the purpose of this conference.

  64. 6.  The guidelines of THE BIBLE Conference are NOT subject to discussion
  65.     in THE BIBLE Conference.  NETMAIL messages or public notices of violation
  66.     of these guidelines from THE BIBLE Conference moderator are also NOT
  67.     subject to discussion in THE BIBLE Conference.  If you have a question,
  68.     please submit it to the moderator.
