ALT_DOS Conference Rules
This is the FidoNet International Echomail conference ALT_DOS.
This echo is for civilized, mature discussion.
Please treat others with the same respect that you expect.
| *** Last revision: 21 Mar 98 ***
* English is the official echo language. *
In compliance with FidoNet Echo Policy, the conference rules will be
posted no less than once each month, and nothing in these rules will
supersede or replace any valid FidoNet rule or policy.
This Conference is dedicated to:
Discussion of the Caldera OpenDOS and the FreeDOS operating
systems. Posting and discussion of experiences, requests for help,
posting of code snippets, etc are encouraged. Other free DOS
variants are welcomed, such as DOSLinux. Confine discussion of
MS-DOS to comparisons/compatibility with an Alt-DOS.
Echo rules:
- Stick with the topic of the Echo.
- Leave MODERATING to the MODERATOR(s).
- Ignore all offtopic posts - including "Tests".
- Quote only that which ties to your reply--stop QUOTAHOLISM
- Don't request routine FidoNet info here, ask your Sysop/local net.
- No unsolicited BBS ads
- The posting of "test" msgs is considered annoying behavior.
- Use Netmail for corresponding to the moderator; don't discuss echo
policy in the open echo.
- Avoid using multi-line signatures, this only fuels the phone bill$.
- No gratuitous high-order ASCII characters-(>127) or ASCII CTRL codes.
- Propose changes to the above by Netmail/E-mail to the moderator.
That's all folks, thanks for reading, thanks for carrying ALT-DOS.
Sysops:
I suggest that this message be available to users in whatever way your
software provides, so that new users can't miss it.
The Moderator reserves the right to take part in any discussions on the
echo, without regard to his status as Moderator. When he is acting
specifically as Moderator, he will sign his message as:
ALT_DOS, Moderator
