  16. The new CICA Windows disc is a welcome surprise because it is quite an
  17. improvement over the old version.  First of all, one of my complaints
  18. about the last version was that there was a lot of free space on the
  19. disc.
  20.  
  21. On the new disc, this space is effectively utilized by providing zipped
  22. *and* unzipped versions of each program (in their own subdirectories).
  23. This eliminates the need to copy and unzip programs to try them--a
  24. tedious process in Windows!  Also on this disc is a new Windows NT
  25. directory.  Although it doesn't contain much (mostly zip/unzip utilities
  26. and the like), it is a nice addition since NT is only in beta release.

  28. Those who reveled in the infamous CICA "shareware" font library on the
  29. last version will find it to be pared down considerably.  It has been
  30. determined that many of the fonts once there were pirated and converted
  31. copies of copyrighted fonts and thus illegally posted.

  33. Two lingering critiques: I wish that the DESKTOP and UTILITIES
  34. directories were divided into subdirectories by category.  That would
  35. make finding various types of programs much easier.  This disc also
  36. contains the VIEW.EXE program which I feel could be improved upon.

  38. Windows users will find the CICA collection to be an invaluable "must
  39. have" resource.
