  18.               ADDmerge
  19.     This program operates on a set of files        
  20.  (each less than one-page long) created by         
  21.  geoMerge, all of which have the same filename, 
  22.  followed by a sequential number. The program     
  23.  combines these files into one geoWrite         
  24.  document with the name of the first file.      
  25.     In the DEFAULT mode, there will be seven    
  26.  files per page in the combined document,         
  27.  separated by two blank lines.  Each of the         
  28.  original files must contain no more than 1000     
  29.  bytes. Except for the first, the original      
  30.  files remain on the disk, unchanged.        
  31.               INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW        
  32.           ***CLICK MOUSE TO GO ON***
  33.     Have all the merge files on one disk,    
  34.  preferably, but not necessarily, the same one    
  35.  that ADDmerge is on.  Open ADDmerge. Select    
  36.  'Combine Files' from the 'File' menu. When the    
  37.  Select File menu appears, select the name of    
  38.  the first of your files. You can also change    
  39.  disks, or (if you have two drives) change    
  40.  drives from this menu.  Click on OPEN, and the    
  41.  documents will be combined. When the last file    
  42.  on the disk (with the selected name) has been    
  43.  read into the buffer, you will receive a    
  44.  'File Not Found' message. Click on OK and the    
  45.  combined file will be written to the disk,         
  46.  the file will be closed, and you will return    
  47.  to the desktop.

  49.         CHANGING THE DEFAULT SETTINGS    
  50.    You may select 2 to 10 items per page (7 is    
  51.  default) by using the 'Items/Page' menu before    
  52.  you combine files. If your original files are    
  53.  more that 1000 bytes long, you will receive a    
  54.  'Buffer Overflow' error message. You may wish    
  55.  to change the default limit, using the    
  56.  'Max Bytes/Item' menu. These are one-time    
  57.  changes to ADDmerge--not written to disk.
