`2Copying PCX Graphic from PC-DOS to CBM`
If you have a PCX (PCX is a PC bitmap image)
format graphic on a PC-DOS disk and you want to
view it on the C64 you will need a Graphics
Viewer such as Godot for the C64.
Proceed as follows to copy the Graphic:
# Start in the Copy Menu and choose the Copy
Options and set up geoDOS with the following
configuration:
`30D`40100 On the Translation Table you must
`30D`40101 set Graphic Files to be copied 1:1
`30D`40102 format so click the 1:1 Format Icon.
Click on the DOS > CBM option on the right
menu and set the following parameters:
__`316 DOS => CBM `______________________
`341Linefeed:`
`40200 Ignore
This option must be de-activated (blank box) or
all of the graphic will not be copied.
`341Filetype:`
`40200 SEQ

`40200 USR
Choose 'Commodore PRG' as the filetype for
the target file.

Choose the 'DOS ^ CBM Files' and select the
Source and Target Drives, then press OK. GeoDOS
reads the directory from the DOS disk and shows
the selection box of files and directories. Choose
the file you want (ending in '.pcx') and click the
OK button. GeoDOS will begin copying the file.
Once the copying process is complete use the
Special Menu 'Call Basic' icon to exit to BASIC.
Start Godot and use it to view the .PCX file. If
you have troubles with GoDot please refer to the

`2Converting PC-Texts into GeoWrite`
You are able to convert 90% of PC Texts directly
into geoWrite documents. For this it is necessary to
know which PC Character Set was used for the
text because geoDOS is able to process three
of the most common sets:
# PC437
# PC850
# PCWIN
The first two are pure DOS texts (created with EDIT
under PC-DOS 6.x ) while the latter is a Windows
ASCII Text (created with "Write" in the Windows
environment).
In order to convert a PC text file into geoWrite
please proceed as follows:
# Start in the Copy Files menu, choose the
Change Options icon and set the following geoDOS
options:
`30D`40100 Choose the Translation Table Icon
`30D`40101 (DOS => CBM Format) at the top of the
`30D`40102 Page to set the PC Character Set.
In this case you will select
'PCWIN => GEOS-ASCII' so that the text
will be converted correctly.
See ^`1Translation Tables`
`30D`40200 Choose the Printer Driver that the
`30D`40201 Document will later be printed with.

See ^`1Create GeoWrite Documents`

`40200 Write Image V2.1
Choose the format here that you want your
GeoWrite Documents to be created in. For text
created under PC-DOS you should always
choose the Write Image V2.1 (80 Char./Line).
For Windows texts you can also choose the
Write Image V2.0 format.

No. of first page `40300
`40200 Reformat text
`40100 Leave end of page
`40200 Lines per page: `40300
Change the value for the first page number if
necessary. The 'Reformat text' option is recom-
mended but is not necessary to have activated.
The Value for 'Lines per page' is calculated by
GeoDOS if the correct printer driver is activated
and the correct character font is in place.

You should use the preceding settings if you
wish to combine several PC Text files into a
single geoWrite document. If you plan to do
conversions of each PC Text file into a separate
geoWrite document then you should de-activate
this option (^ `40100 Combine Files)

`2Copying GeoWrite Texts to PC-DOS format`
GeoDOS is able to convert GeoWrite V2.0 and V2.1
files into PC format text files. The program
understands three PC Character sets:

The first two are pure DOS Texts created using EDIT

text created with "Write" supplied with
Windows 3.x or later.
Any Photo Scraps in the geoWrite document are
not copied in the conversion process.

# Start in the Main Copy Files menu and choose
the Change Options icon to setup geoDOS with
the following options:
`30D`40100 Choose the Translation Table needed
`30D`40101 to set geoDOS to convert the

the document can be converted

German specifics:
With GeoDOS it is possible to convert BTX pages
(BTX is a German online service similar to
Earthlink) into GeoWrite documents it they
were saved by the T-Online Decoder program
using its F6 key.
Proceed in the following manner:
