  69. The Special Functions Menu opens under GeoDos
  70. with the press of the right Mouse button. If your
  71. Mouse does not support this function, or you
  72. are using a Joystick, then you can also open this 
  73. Menu by pressing the <RETURN> key.

  85. Here you can exit GeoDOS. A Sub-Menu with the
  86. following options appears:

  101. `30D`40602    menu where you can select partitions
  102.     with a drop arrow before all CMD drives.
  103. If GeoDOS was started from a CMD drive then this
  104. Options Menu lets you reset the boot partition by
  105. clicking with the Mouse Button on the 'Open boot-
  106. partition' button.
  107. If you wish to change the partition on a drive then
  108. click the roll arrow beside the drive name.
  109. If you are using a CMD SmartMouse you can call
  110. this Menu from the Main Menu by clicking the 
  111. middle Mouse button.
  112. The Help System is accessible via the <F1> Key.

  118. Depending on how geoDOS was started the
  119. program acts differently:
  120. #    If GeoDOS was started as an Application
  121. you will return directly to the Desktop. First, 
  122. GeoDOS checks if the ^`1Reset Partition` Option
  123. is active on the startup drive.
  124. #    If GeoDOS is installed as the Desktop a
  125. File Selection Box is opened with all of the
  126. available GO! - Files on the System Diskette. You
  127. can then select from here which Desktop you 
  128. would like to return to. You must ensure that the
  129. accompanying Desktop File is available on one of 
  130. the active disk drives. Example:
  131.     GO/DeskTop    DESK_TOP and/or
  132.         128_DESKTOP
  133.     GO/DualTop    DUALTOP
  134.     GO/gateWay    GATEWAY
  135. If GeoDOS does not find the accompanying file you
  136. are requested to insert a disk with a copy of the 
  137. DeskTop. Also before leaving here GeoDOS tests
  138. whether the option ^`1Reset Partition` is activated.

  149. You leave GeoDOS and the BASIC mode of the C64 
  150. is started. Attention! No Safety Query is made!
  151. GeoDOS was programmed on the C64. For this 
  152. purpose a special RESET Routine was developed. 
  153. It should work on all devices with different
  154. configurations. Also, System modifications through 
  155. patches do not pose any problems here
  156. (e.g. RAM-Process).
  157. However, if a changed Kernal should have been
  158. built into the C64 then it can result in some mal-
  159. functions, including total system crashes.
  160. With the JiffyDOS Kernal (c) CMD there have been
  161. no problems so far. Because this Kernal is also 
  162. integrated in the RAMLink and SuperCPU there
  163. should be no problems with these units either.
  164. For the C128, the Standard Kernal Routine is used.
  165. However, no warranty can be given that the
  166. C128 BASIC will start.

  172. GeoDOS opens the System Diskette and searches
  173. for the file 'LoadGeoHelp', the startup file for the
  174. Help System. Moreover, geoDOS looks for the file
  175. 'GeoHelpView', the actual Help System. Should
  176. one or both of these files be unavailable an
  177. error message is displayed.
  178. GeoDOS will now start the Help System. If you 
  179. leave the Help System you return directly to the
  180. GeoDOS Main Menu.
  181. Various GeoDOS Menus offer the option to call
  182. the Help System via
  183.  the <F1> key
  184. . After leaving
  185. the Help System you are returned to the GeoDOS 
  186. Menu you were in when you pressed <F1>.

  266. on a blank area of the screen, on the round Icon
  267. or on the Close button in the top left of the
  268. Window.

  277. checks real disk drives. When the geoWrite
  278. application is found GeoDOS exits and the

  281. particular drive the only possible option is:

  312. dialog box appears to adjust the print options.
  313. If you click on the 'OK' Icon the document will
  314. be printed.  If you click on the 'CANCEL' Icon you
  315. will return back to the DeskTop or, if GeoDOS was 
  316. installed as your Desktop, you return to GeoDOS.

  399. This routine only exists for the C64. Users of
  400. GEOS128 can not start any BASIC programs from
  401. here.
  402. First, select a BASIC compatible drive. The follow-
  403. ing drive types are permitted:
  404.     - C=1541    - CMD FD2000 / FD4000
  405.     - C=1571    - CMD HD
  406.     - C=1581    - CMD RAMlink
  407.         - RAMDrive
  408. If you choose a CMD Drive you are then prompted 
  409. for a partition. All partitions are displayed with 
  410. their types - 1541, 1571, 1581 and Native-Mode. Select
  411. a partition with a click of your mouse. If only one
  412. Partition is available on the drive GeoDOS bypasses
  413. this step.
  414. If you select a Native-Mode Partition then GeoDOS
  415. requests you to select a sub-directory. If no sub-
  416. directories exist then GeoDOS skips this step.
  417. Now a File Selection Box will appear listing all of
  418. the BASIC Programs.  Attention! GEOS Applications
  419. and Documents do not show up here. These can't
  420. be started from BASIC.
  421. Select one of the programs from the list and it 
  422. will be started. Attention! GeoDOS can only load
  423. and start Programs that are loaded from BASIC like
  424. this: 'LOAD"NAME",dev'. GeoDOS cannot start 
  425. Assembler Programs that are started with a SYS
  426. command or by 'LOAD "NAME",dev,1'!
