  6.     "What you have done is thoroughly evil," pronounced U.S.
  7. District Judge Garrett Brown as he sentenced Arthur D. Seale to
  8. the maximum: 95 years in prison, without parole. Seale, 45, an
  9. ex-Exxon employee, kidnapped senior Exxon official Sidney Reso
  10. in his own driveway and stuffed him, bound and bleeding, into a
  11. storage locker while negotiating his ransom. The entombed Reso
  12. slowly died an agonizing death. Seale and his wife Irene were
  13. tracked down by investigators. It was she who divulged the
  14. damning details of the kidnapping, and is now in prison, soon to
  15. face her own sentencing.

  18.     CRIME OF PASSION

  20.     "You have become a media celebrity," noted New York Supreme
  21. Court Justice Marvin Goodman as he passed sentence on Long
  22. Island teenager Amy Fisher. His honor understated the facts:
  23. since Fisher shot Mary Jo Buttafuoco in the head last May, the
  24. crime has drawn international attention. Prior to sentencing,
  25. Fisher again insisted that Mary Jo's husband Joey Buttafuoco
  26. was her lover and implied that he knew she intended to kill his
  27. wife. (The Buttafuocos deny all.) Result: five to 15 years
  28. imprisonment for the troubled teen for shooting Mary Jo,
  29. sentencing her to a life of pain.
