  6. colon; in Rome. Biopsies taken before and during surgery showed
  7. the growth was not malignant; a pre-op CAT scan revealed stones
  8. in the gallbladder. Doctors said the Pope's distress had no
  9. connection to injuries sustained in 1981 when Mehmet Ali Agca
  10. shot the Pontiff in the abdomen during an assassination attempt.
