  6.     After five months of debate, major league baseball owners
  7. gave a thumbs-up to the $125 million sale of the Seattle Mariners
  8. to an investment group headed by Hiroshi Yamauchi, the president
  9. of Nintendo in Japan. The owners waved the deal through because
  10. Yamauchi agreed to limited decision-making power. Said American
  11. League president Bobby Brown: "The offshore interest has
  12. investment but not much to say about how the franchise is
  13. operated."
