  1.           VISITYPE                                Steven Holzner
  2.           Command                                    1986/No. 18
  3.
  4.           ______________________________________________________
  5.
  6.           Purpose:  Expands the PC's normal 15-character
  7.                     typeahead buffer to 80 characters.
  8.
  9.           Format:   [d:][path]VISITYPE
  10.
  11.           Remarks:  If you enter a series of commands without
  12.                     waiting until each has finished executing (as
  13.                     during a long directory scroll or disk-
  14.                     searching operation, for example), the PC
  15.                     will beep and discard subsequent keystrokes
  16.                     when you exceed its built-in 15-character
  17.                     keyboard buffer.
  18.
  19.                     VISITYPE enlarges the keyboard buffer to 80
  20.                     characters and temporarily displays the
  21.                     overflow on the top line of the display
  22.                     before they are used.  Keystrokes so
  23.                     displayed can be edited, if necessary, by
  24.                     using the Backspace key and then entering the
  25.                     correct keystroke.
  26.
  27.                     Notes:
  28.
  29.                     1.   VISITYPE is a memory-resident utility
  30.                          that is normally loaded through your
  31.                          AUTOEXEC.BAT file.  While it will work
  32.                          with most applications programs, it will
  33.                          not work with those that completely take
  34.                          over the keyboard interrupts for their
  35.                          own purposes.
