Shareware information as at 24 Feb 1994
Apteryx Lisp is a Lisp system for Microsoft Windows 3.x.
It is copyrighted 1994 by Apteryx Lisp Ltd, a private
company registered in New Zealand.
It is being distributed as shareware. This means that users may try
the program for at most a month on their computer before deciding to
register as a user and pay for the right to use the program permanently
on their computer.
Currently, new versions of Apteryx Lisp are uploaded to the Compuserve
IBMPRO forum. Shareware distributors may take a copy of the program
and themselves distribute it as shareware, charging a normal distribution
fee. Distributors must always make clear that the program is shareware,
and that their distribution fee does not cover the cost of a licence to
use the software. Individual users may also distribute copies of the
program to their friends or other users to allow them to evaluate the
program on a trial basis. In all cases, what must be distributed is the
archive APTERYX.ZIP file that contains the program executable, help file
and other documentation files.
Currently the benefit that users will receive on registration is
a certificate stating their right to use the program.
If this policy changes, so that for example a manual is provided but
the payment required is higher, then users already licensed to use that
version of the software will only need to pay the difference in order
to receive the manual.
Support is currently available via Compuserve 100241,1154.
