  4. │ This program requires an input file containing 'CHESS MOVES' statements.   │
  5. │                                                                            │
  6. │ When invoking CHESSRP3 without giving the name of a 'CHESS MOVES' file on  │
  7. │ the command line, the program MENU is displayed.                           │
  8. │                                                                            │
  9. │ Use a single character to select various options as explained on MENU.     │
  10. │                                                                            │
  11. │ Chess Moves files are assumed to be suffixed with the characters '.CHX'.   │
  12. │ When TRUE, file names may be entered without this suffix.                  │
  13. │                                                                            │
  14. │ Use the 'UP ARROW' and the 'DOWN ARROW' keys to move CHESS PIECES on board.│
  15. │ Alternately, keys 'd' (for down) and 'u' (for up) will do the same thing.  │
  16. │                                                                            │
  17. │ Terminate a GAME prematurely by pressing 'Esc' key.                        │
  18. │                                                                            │
  19. │ Program checks the validity of CHESS MOVES only if necessary to determine  │
  20. │ which CHESS PIECE to move.                 ────                            │
  21. │ If such a determination cannot be made, program will end with an ERROR     │
  22. │ condition.                                                                 │
