  16.     wasn't expecting this, but he's not completely
  17.     surprised either. He gives Mika a look that says
  18.     keep-your-mouth-shut, then steps forward and takes
  19.     the child in his arms.

  21.                     DUKAT
  22.                 (with wonder)
  23.             The Pah-wraiths... they've sent
  24.             us a sign...
  25.  
  26.     He moves to the door of the Infirmary, holds the
  27.     child up for the crowd in the Promenade to see. A
  28.     collective gasp of confusion comes up from the
  29.     assembled group.

  31. 29   KIRA

  33.     as she reacts, realizing immediately that Dukat is
  34.     still up to his old ways, taking young Bajoran women
  35.     to his bed.
  36.  
  37.                     DUKAT
  38.             My children, something wondrous
  39.             has happened. This infant --
  40.             born of the love between Benyan
  41.             and Mika -- was transformed in
  42.             her womb into a living symbol of
  43.             the Covenant I've made with you.
  44.                 (through tears of joy)
  45.             What a blessed day this is --
  46.             there can no longer be any doubt
  47.             that the Pah-wraiths are smiling
  48.             upon us.

  50.     The confused looks of the crowd give way to awed
  51.     expressions of devotion.
