  12.     Keiko's instincts as a mother rise to the fore as she 
  13.     looks at the girl's sleeping form.

  15.                     KEIKO 
  16.             This is our Molly. We may have 
  17.             missed ten years of her life, but 
  18.             we don't have the right to take 
  19.             them away from her.
  20.  
  21.     O'Brien knows she's right, and does his best to accept 
  22.     it. Keiko reaches for a nearby CLOTH and begins 
  23.     tenderly cleaning Molly's skin as Bashir prepares to 
  24.     present more bad news.

  26.                     BASHIR 
  27.             She's been deprived of human 
  28.             contact for a long time. It's not 
  29.             going to be easy for her to 
  30.             re-assimilate.
  31.  
  32.     The O'Brien's share a pained look.

  34.                     BASHIR 
  35.             Her language skills are going to 
  36.             be rusty. The two of you are the 
  37.             best hope we have of helping her 
  38.             recover them.

  40.                     KEIKO 
  41.             She didn't seem to remember us.

  43.                     O'BRIEN
  44.             She was so scared I doubt she even 
  45.             saw what we looked like.

  47.     Bashir doesn't know how to break it to them...

  49.                     BASHIR 
  50.             That's true, but don't expect her 
  51.             to accept you right away. It's 
  52.             possible that she blocked out the 
  53.             memories of her earlier life in 
  54.             order to cope with her isolation.

  56.     This isn't happy news, but the O'Briens take the hit 
  57.     and steel themselves to do what has to be done.
