  9.     Sisko is pacing, thinking out loud and using Dax as a 
  10.     sounding board.

  13.             It's in their own best interest 
  14.             to join the war -- that's the key, 
  15.             that's the reason the Romulans 
  16.             will finally take action. Not to 
  17.             do us any favors, but to protect 
  18.             themselves from the Dominion.

  20.                     DAX
  21.             Okay. Let's say I'm the Romulan 
  22.             Proconsol. From where I'm 
  23.             sitting, the Dominion isn't a 
  24.             threat to me. I have a 
  25.             nonaggression pact with them. 
  26.             They're my allies.
  27.  
  28.                     SISKO
  29.             You're not going to put your faith 
  30.             in some piece of paper are you?
  31.  
  32.                     DAX
  33.             Not at all. I've been watching 
  34.             the Dominion very closely since 
  35.             the beginning of the war. And so 
  36.             far, they've kept their part of 
  37.             the bargain.

  39.     The tone here starts getting more heated -- they're 
  40.     both pushing their roles and their arguments as hard 
  41.     as they can.

  44.             They're violating your territory 
  45.             almost every day -- what kind of 
  46.             an ally is that?

  49.             So they're crossing through my 
  50.             backyard to give the Federation 
  51.             a bloody nose. I can't say that 
  52.             makes me very sad.
