  10.                 (off O'Brien's look) 
  11.             I know you can't hear it, but it's 
  12.             there. Probably a sympathetic 
  13.             vibration in a power coupling or 
  14.             something.
  15.  
  16.     O'Brien tears his eyes off the strange scene around 
  17.     him, takes out his TRICORDER. After a beat...
  18.  
  19.                     O'BRIEN 
  20.             What do you know... you're right.
  21.  
  22.                     JACK
  23.                 (to the tune of "There's
  24.                 a Hole in the Bucket")
  25.             Well why don't you fix it, dear
  26.             fellow, dear fellow, well why
  27.             don't you fix it before I go mad.
  28.  
  29.     And with that, Jack crosses to his room. O'Brien 
  30.     stares after him for a beat, then moves to a nearby 
  31.     bulkhead. Bashir sees Lauren watching O'Brien with 
  32.     appreciation, decides to head her off before she 
  33.     decides to approach him.

  35.                     BASHIR 
  36.             He's married.

  38.                     LAUREN 
  39.             Too bad.

  41. 17   O'BRIEN

  43.     OPENING a panel. Patrick comes up behind him to watch. 
  44.     O'Brien senses his presence, gives him a smile, and 
  45.     Patrick couldn't be more delighted.

  47.                     PATRICK 
  48.             Sounds like the plasma flow is out 
  49.             of sync, huh?

  51.     O'Brien looks up from his tricorder with surprise -- 
  52.     that's exactly what the readouts show.

  55.             You're right.

  57.                     PATRICK 
  58.             Better re-align it.
